I trust this letter finds you in good spirits, and I hope that Sofia hasnāt pulled you into too much royal turmoil this week. Iām reaching out about a matter that has left me feeling quite vexed.
A few days ago, I received a scroll from a mysterious sender who referred to themselves simply as "A." Normally, I would disregard such anonymous magical messages as mere tricks. However, the spell enclosed is both genuine and remarkably intricate.
The accompanying notes indicate that the spell must be cast on a magical object, but they fail to specify what kind of object is needed, what the spell is intended to achieve, or what conditions must be met for it to work.Ā
I have tried casting the spell on enchanted compasses, scrying crystals, astral maps, navigational talismans, wands, staffs, and even a very obstinate magical teacup that claims to foresee the future. None have yielded any significant results.
It seems I might be overlooking something, or perhaps the spell requires a very particular object that has yet to show itself.Ā
The language used is intriguing. "Stellara" suggests a link to stars or celestial elements, while "Navigata" hints at guidance, travel, or direction. Yet, every theory I formulate crumbles when put to the test.
Could it be a locating spell? A way to activate a hidden enchantment? Or perhaps some type of magical map? I truly cannot say.
What troubles me most is the identity of the sender. I have scoured every magical registry, archive, and correspondence record at my disposal, but have found no trace of who this "A" could be. If this is an elaborate prank, it is a remarkably well-designed one.
I would greatly value your perspective. Your expertise with ancient enchantments and magical artifacts might help me uncover something Iāve missed. If the phrase resonates with you or if you have come across a similar spell in your studies, please respond at your earliest convenience.
In the meantime, I will continue my inquiries and do my best to avoid unleashing any catastrophic consequences.
Cedric clung to every word. Quietly vibrating as he listened. To be sought out by Merlin was a dream come true. How could he not be excited! Though, if Merlin himself couldn't figure out this spell, what hopes did Cedric have? Still, the sorcerer didn't want to let down his hero. Not after he made the effort to reach out.
But...
What did it have to do with the stars?
Cedric takes the letter, reading it over, skimming, and trying to connect the dots.
Well, stars themselves are magical, aren't they?
"Hm, I have a theory. I'll have to write back as soon as possible."
Cedric then pressed the scroll to his face. He was definitely going to cherish this forever. "Oh, butā I still can't believe it. The Merlin wrote to me!"
"But, I suppose I am Cedric The Sensational after all!"
