#troublesome faeries

Slowly getting on with my illustration comissions! This is another faerie, Willo the Wisp.

This apparition manifests as a floating light, sometimes described as like a candle flame, which leads travellers astray across the bogs and moors. They mistake the light for a guiding lantern, but if they follow it they quickly discover themselves to be hopelessly stuck in treacherous mires. In one story, the enchantment can be broken by taking off your coat, turning it inside out and then turning away from the light.

BOGGART These unpleasant creatures are not the type of Faerie you want around the house. Originating as a helpful Brownie, who then got offended by gifts of clothes or food, the Boggart is the opposite of helpful. Souring milk, tangling hair, breaking items and scaring animals, the Boggart is said to terrorize the house for 20 years or more if you cannot placate it so it returns to Brownie form. Boggarts enjoy accessorizing with teeth, bones and old rags.
