Hey okay so I thought I should still post this while I can.
I know Troye’s going to get v famous and maybe he’ll even forget about us and yeah that’s sad but can I just say that I really love you guys. This fandom, I mean, and everything that it currently is and has been for awhile. I just really want to thank you guys for making these last few years amazing. For the tumblr meetups, for the fangirling, for recommending fanfictions and for supporting each other when we’re overwhelmed with pride and joy for our lovely Troye.
I know it’s certainly not cool to call people who haven’t been here since the beginning “fake fans,” and I would never in a million years to that, but can I just say how happy I am to have been here since the beginning? How happy I am that we all were? Like think about it, we’ll have all these experiences the new fans never will. We know Troye used to have a lip ring, and we remember all the lyrics to the 2012 Song and the 2013 Song and OTP and we knew the original version of The Fault In Our Stars and we know all the covers and we remember “If Websites Were People” and Troye failing at making a rainbow cake and Troye’s coming out video. We were the ones who pre-ordered TRXYE the moment it was announced, and we all cried. A lot. We remember shipping Troyler, and then Tronnor, and reading some of the best fanfics ever written (yes, Freak is on that list, because Queen Kali is a genius) and idk I’m just getting a bit emotional but like.
Just thank you, guys. Thanks for everything. I’ll never forget you guys, and someday I’ll tell my kids just how wonderful y’all are. New fans will come to the fandom, sure, and I welcome them with open arms. But I’m just so incredibly grateful that I was here now, and that I got to experience all of this, and that I’ll have these memories, because what this fandom family has is special, and nobody will ever be able to replicate that <3
