Edith had been upside down in the car her head feeling like it was rammed with a pickaxe. She could make out siren lights and the sound of a voice. Everything sounded distant. Despite the fresh wounds from her daily beatings from her husband, she managed to glance over and see her husband seemingly out cold. She groaned, having tried to move but was told to relax.

“Wha....happened?”
