I'm in upstate New York. It's cold. There's snow. I'm a Vegas bitch, this is such bullshit.
700 miles chasing the white line
Foot to the floor, down the road I'm flying
I gotta make it to the stop before 9
And back to that woman of mine
Another scale house, another bear or two
Don't mind me trooper, just passing on through
Hammer down under a sky so blue
Busting ass to get home to you
Chrome grilles, big wheels, bright lights
Big CAT singing through the pipes
Another day done, another sleepless night
Now I'm not stopping until the house is in sight
Take the time to hold her tight and love her right
Working days away to buy her a life
No life worth living to always be alone
That's why you have to always come home
Big wheels keep on turning
Midnight oil keeps on burning
Do you part and get it done
But remember, time waits for no one.
Counting the seconds until I'm bound
Bound by the clock that ticks away
Day after day
Tick tock, tick tock
Even when the clock isn't ticking
I'm counting the seconds until it is
Tick tock, tick tock
My life slips away
While I wait for it to be mine
Introduction:
My name is Kyra. I am a queer woman who has been on and off semi trucks since I was a child. I grew up on and around these machines. I have been driving over the road off and on since 2014. I created this blog to share my passion for the trucks, my interest in the industry, and to provide a modern, queer female view into today's trucking world.
I love my life. With the depression, dysphoria and all. I wake up and take a journey every day. Days spent rolling down mountain roads watching the sun creep up and over the peaks. Early morning critters doing crittery things while the birds chirp. The grains waving in the wind during a mid-afternoon storm on the plains. And I can't leave out a beautiful evening drive through the desert as the sun begins to fall off the horizon. In a good week I can experience all of them with my best friend beside me, and get paid to do it.
