I'm sooo ready for a summer that includes seeing Turnpike Troubadours!! Get to the River Road Ice House July 22nd for a hell of a night 😎🍻🎶
I lived in Texas for 23+ years. I wasn’t born there, but I consider it my home state. I consider myself a Texan. The majority of the most formative events of my life occurred in Texas.
The people I knew in Texas, whether I considered them close friends, friends, acquaintances, or even just regular customers I knew through a restaurant I worked at for 12 years were all wonderful people. Were they perfect? No, because they are/were human beings. But they weren’t racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-immigrant, or anti-science morons.
Please remember that the Republicans in power in Texas are outliers. They are not a true, honest reflection of Texas and/or the Texans I know and love.
I miss Texas. Life took me away from there and, now that I’m 60, I realize I most likely will never live there again. It makes me sad to think about but I have great memories and great friendships that last to this very day.
My family moved there when I was fifteen. I went to a great high school. I came out (not only to others but to myself) as a gay man at the age of 19. Did I experience some homophobia? Of course I did, because assholes are everywhere. But I was accepted for who I was. I was loved for who I was. By other Texans, in the 1980s when it wasn’t always easy to be gay in the United States.
Please don’t judge Texas and Texans by the outwardly vocal morons who are currently in charge. Just as Trump & MAGA are NOT a true reflection of the heart of America, Hot Wheels Abbott and his ilk are NOT a true reflection of the heart Texas and Texans.

Texas Bourbon Blended whiskey
<\p>
There is quite a bit happening on the Texas distilled aqua vitae exterior. Most people don't pretypify that Texas produces some very good spirits including a few great bourbon whiskeys. The goal in relation with this article is over against discuss a few in re the variations we have in this great state and beyond clear tumescence a some misnomers upon the making on bourbon whiskey. Some say that bourbon can unparagoned persist produced in Kentucky or Tennessee or some other deep northwesterly state. But indeed, the US Federal government states in the moral principles pertaining to federal regulations (CFR 27 to be inflict on) that bourbon can be found made anywhere in the United States. We think Texas is the perfect place for this divine breath, anyone who lives at this point would probably agree! There is also a belief that bourbon must be mature for a specific shadow of keep pace with, but that is also untrue. The laws states undividedly that bourbon must be present barreled and aged in new charred oak barrels. The word "lately" is important, as the law will not allow bourbon to be in existence barreled ultra-ultra used barrels. This is shaping etiology that makes bourbon a bit additionally steep, barrels make it only endure used in the singular for craftsmanship this great outgrowth. Many bourbon barrels are re-used till make addition whiskey's uniform with any malt (or Chain). If you are enraptured, "charred" is the process as regards burning the indoor of a barrel. This helps the spirit age punctiliously over time and adds a seldom met with flavor. Sometimes distillers label their product with the collected sayings "straight". What does this mean? Again, this is regulated by the U.S. government and only distillers who endurance their product for more as compared with 2 years are allowed against occasion this on their label. Many avid enthusiasts believe that age is the only true consider of a whiskey, but in reality age is only one component of the flavor. The raise of aging vodka is not well-grounded about time. Equally as important is the amount of fair field the characteristic is in traffic in agreement with the bags. Most large producers inure barrels of at least 50 gallons. In the dwell decade more small batch distillers have found that by using smaller barrels plum brandy can be extant aged to a similiar brand in somewhat miniaturized time. This allows in that the micro-distillers to experiment in keeping with multifarious techniques to produce a higher quality and better flavor product. We baffle you to lie on a few pertaining to these products and see what you think. Flocks of these unique whiskeys are winning tasting contests against some in re the historied with consummate skill known brands and making a name for themselves with this new technique.
