#5: Demon Hunter - True Defiance

Nu-metal is not a particularly good genre. The guitar tones are generally the same, the lyrics are either cheesy (ok I guess) or fucked up (songs glorifying the abuse of women are not ok), and the songs are almost always too long. Demon Hunter is a nu-metal veteran. True Defiance is #5. My taste is in music devolving into pulp.

I’m glad I can say that the songs off True Defiance aren’t about hitting women. It’s, like, Demon Hunter’s bagillionth studio album so they have their niche carved out and only have to meet the expectations of their usual buyers and fans; nu-metal isn’t expanding into a greater market anytime soon. Demon Hunter doesn’t play anything new or groundbreaking on this album. They’re happy to keep their fans and develop their live show. If I were to present the themes of this album to you, you would hopefully scroll down to a nudie pic. 

This album is #5 because I listened to it a lot.
