Weekend Training 3-21-14 thru 3-23-14
So on Friday I felt the insane need to not only run in the morning since it was a "run day" but to also take advantage of the fact that I could go to a swim master's too. THEN I made the intelligent decision to wear heels out for the night. Lets take this one thing at a time.
MORNING RUN: It was awesome! Asthma under control, legs feeling great thanks to the new shoes, generally the run I've been waiting for the last 10 days or so.
SWIM: I love my swims, I swam 45 minutes doing a bunch of different drills with the Swim Masters. Its one of those things that I can just zone out on and just swim my tempo. I had planed to focus on my arms & body movement, but all the drills were legs which was a little tough after my morning run. I don't really know how much distance I did in the swim but probably around 1200M at the very least.
GOING OUT: So I wanted to wear these cute booties and we went out to the Warhol for their night party. At this point in the day my legs were on fire… specifically my thighs and hips. FIRE. Miraculously I made it through the museum and the evening in heels which I think I deserve an award for!
SATURDAY was a rest day which my legs obviously needed. I'm not sure how much rest it was though, b/c I did work a 9 hour shift and went up the stairs A LOT. Including carrying all the wine up and down cause Scott had the night off.
Today (Sunday) I knew I needed to get some yoga in to help stretch out my poor hips. Took advantage of the free community class at Lululemon this morning at 10AM. I love these classes, they're always just enough of a workout without being hardcore. These days I need my yoga to stretch me out and help my body recover, not a hardcore flow class with 100 chadarangas. I'm feeling pretty great about the class today and my hips are feeling better too. I think I'm gonna start making a concerted effort to go to the yoga for runners classes when I can.
NUTRITION: I've also started to recreate some of the LULI TONIX drinks for myself cause we have the Bullet at our house and I've enjoyed making smoothies for breakfast. Yesterday I recreated the LIFETONIC which is a tea & chai drink for my mid shift snack & the CHIA LIFE for my post work cravings for something sweet. I was pretty jazzed about hoe they turned out. Today I did a CLEANSE recreation for a pre yoga drink, I made my own green juice/smoothie (including spinach, kale, berries, coconut oil, coconut juice, salt, and vanilla whey protein powder) for after yoga. I've also pre made another LIFETONIC for this afternoon & a CHIA GOLD for later tonight. I like playing with the smoothies & juices as an alternative. I have to say with the Chia seeds they do keep me pretty full and give me a great amount of energy. Tonight I'm going out for Thai food so I know I'll def get some real solid food & protein in me so I feel better about all the juices etc throughout the day. I don't want to live off of them, just use them as snack supplements and I love the CLEANSE as a pre-workout drink cause its not too heavy for a morning workout, with enough salt to give me electrolytes. I'm sorta basing everything off of their http://lulitonix.com/products/cleanse-til-dinner which is about juices/smoothies until dinner which can be whatever you want. This is just an experiment!
