Drug to an Addict
Growing up I never understood how one could become addicted to a substance or well anything for that matter. Seeing people in the world around me consumed by the choices they made, was easier to judge than to understand. Wondering, "How did they let this become their life?", "Where's the joy in being unstable and vulnerable all the time?" "You control what you do.". None of it made sense, until I met you. You were my drug, I'd constantly lose myself in you becoming someone I wasn't, someone weak and distracted. Which restrained me from reaching my full potential. Knowing I didn't need you yet, you were all I craved. The only thing on my mind was your voice, smile, smell, laugh, you. I couldn't get you out of my head unless I was by your side. My mental state turned to shit, every decision I made became clouded. Although I knew nothing good ever came from you, it didn't seem to matter. You were a distraction from reality, being with you took away the responsibilities and stress in the world. You were drug and I was the addict.

always remember it's easier said than done. easier to blame one then to blame yourself. but always be true to yourself and realize that you are in control of your choices. there will always be an easy way out but you're stronger than you think, take the challenge.
