Trulani | Pride 2020

Trulani is aroace and autistic! She’s from my Imperfect Science setting; she’s Adelain’s roommate and lifelong friend. She became friends with Gerou and Elance as undergraduates in university, when they had a few classes together and when Adelain first started getting involved with Gerou.

In the full fantasy setting (rather than this modern adaptation), she, Elance, and Gerou are all mages; they worked together on what was essentially a collaborative thesis for their mage licensure.

Inktober Day 26:

I’m still feeling pretty burned out from that darned art project, but! Vaguely back in business. And once I actually finish it, I’ll be posting it and counting it for exactly as many days as it’s burned, heh.

In the mean time; the main protagonists from Imperfect Science, across two generations. ^_^ Though… ah, definitely not depicted with any chronological consistency. Basically everyone’s school-aged here, even though Naimh doesn’t show up in the story until Gerou is semi-retired and Elance is the Dean of the mage department.

I had two goals with this. The first was that I figured drawing everyone very small in a simple style might help me sort out what facial structures and features my hind brain has decided each person has. And it did indeed help with that! Everyone looks like themselves to me. :)

The second is… I have a favor to ask! I need suggestions for a name for Elance’s wife. I’ve come up with so many names for her over the years, and not a single darned one has stuck.

There aren’t any naming rule conventions to worry about, really; not that I’ve thought up at any rate. Elance, Trulani, and Adelain are all from her culture, so you could try to pull from them, but I feel like I have enough Ls and As and Ns to last a lifetime. xD Gerou and Naimh are both from different cultures.

The others were falling behind, from the sound of it. Trulani paused and looked back over her shoulder. “Everything okay?” she questioned.

“Oh, 's wond'rful,” Elance slurred scathingly, prompting a wince from Gerou. “F-ffck'n… fantastic.”

“We’re fine,” Adelain called back, trying a smile and tightening her arm briefly against Elance's side. “The bridge is just slippery, give us a sec.”

 Elance didn’t quite make it home one night... not on his own, at least. Same night as this scene.  Can also be found fullsized on DeviantArt~
