Listen #free in #Spotify: "Raise 'Em Up - Remix" by Alonestar, Ed Sheeran, Trunkie https://ift.tt/39YjFKo
12:40am is a good time to talk about Webkinz. Do y'all remember Webkinz? I had all sorts of them when I was younger. Lost a lot of them in the move, lots of them are in boxes in our basement, but I've hung onto a few favorites. I have this really old elephant Webkin named Trunkie, and Trunkie has been wih me for the vast majority of my life. I think I got him when I was 4 or 5? I'm almost 17 now, so that kinda goes to show how old he is. One time when I was really young, my parents and I were walking by this creek, and I sat at a bench next to the creek and threw some rocks into it, then we went on our merry way. When we got home, I realized I had left Trunkie on the bench. My dad went back to go get him, but when he got there, someone had torn Trunkie open, thrown his parts everywhere, and left his hollow shell sitting in the rocks. All of his bean stuffing was gone, and one of his legs had been swept away by the creek, never to be seen again. My dad told me later that he presumed that Trunkie was torn apart by some asshole teens, but he didn't want to tell that to innocent little baby Jado, so instead he told me at the time that a dog had come by and chewed Trunkie up. He also never pointed out to me that someone had ran a lighter across Trunkie's back, and he clipped away the burnt fur to hide the evidence. He came home, holding this tattered, empty stuffie in his arms, and of course little babby me started to cry. He told me not to worry, that he could fix Trunkie, and I spent the next hour watching him meticulously fill Trunkie with cotton balls and sew him back together. To replace his missing leg, dad cut a square out of a blue, plaid pair of pajama pants he had laying around, filled it with cotton balls, and sewed it on. I knew Trunkie would never be the same, but I still loved him just as much as I had before. After we moved out of our old apartment when I was around 7, I began to fear that Trunkie had been lost in the move. I eventually lost all hope on finding him, but several years later, the little binch showed up again in my stuffie-hammock (long story, basically it's a hammock hung in my room where I stored my stuffies as a child) that I had looked through MULTIPLE times. It's like I was DESTINED to find him or something. It was fucking magical, I think I cried a little bit. Ever since then, I've made a vow to bring Trunkie with me on every major vacation I go on. He came with me to my grandpa's hometown that he moved away from as a teen, he went with me to Alberta for my old school principal's wedding, he went with me to the dinosaur museum in Drumheller, he went with me to Ontario to stay with my great aunt Marilyn, and now... HE'S COMING WITH ME TO DIDNEY WOOOOOOORRRRRRLLL!!
