Release of the Day: 7SECONDS - "The Crew" Deluxe 2021 Edition (Trust Records) - My dubbed copy of a friend's dubbed copy of 7seconds "The Crew" sounded so low in volume and of poor quality when I first heard it (along with "Walk Together, Rock Together"), that I couldn't understand at first why, at age 16, I needed to know and understand 7seconds. It didn't take long for the educational effort to take hold, but I could never really get over the sonic issues and more or less, committed my 7seconds fandom to everything from "Good To Go" and onward. So it's so fucking cool to have "The Crew" get the legendary updating it deserves and finally, a spot on the streaming services. The care that went into the remaking of the original recording is nothing short of stunning - vital, fresh, loud, but still a blur of energy, melody, and sing-alongs. The DNA of "The Crew" will replicate for generations to come.
