You Can’t Trust Everyone

I have felt inclined to speak on a topic with which I have had much experience as of late.  During my journey of self-realization, I have periods in which I felt inclined to seek out teachers from whom to learn.  I felt that someone who had been practicing longer than I may be better able to guide me and show me different practices and techniques that would be for my highest good.  In this quest for teachers and guides however, I ran into a lot of frauds.  Let me elaborate.

I decided to take a course at a local Metaphysical School.  I was excited about attending this school as they had many courses that were of interest to me.  I really wanted to start out with a Crystal Healing course, however, they were not offering it at the time so I opted for a different course.  As with most instances in my life, I was the only person of color attending these classes so I stuck out like a sore thumb.  This in itself was not an issue to me as I am used to this.  What really bothered me were the comments that were made by both my "teacher" and fellow classmates.  

First, my teacher swore we knew each other from a past life and would always tell me:  "You won't let me love you."  This made me very uncomfortable because I did not feel the same connection to her at all.  In addition, she always picked on me in class to the point that my fellow classmates would call her on this because it made them so uncomfortable as well.  Most of the time I left that class feeling worst than when I arrived.  This was a clear indication to me that this was NOT for my highest good.

Secondly, I had started to hang out with one of my classmates from this class.  This was until she told me  that she could not get access to any social services because "All the Blacks and Hispanics are taking them away from Whites."  Now, I am one to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I thought perhaps I misheard her so I repeated back to her what she said to see if I heard correctly.  I did.  Now this same woman is teaching classes at this same school.  

As a Lightworker, Starseed, and Empath, I feel as if my purpose is to help raise the vibration on this planet.  In order to do this, it is necessary to operate in Love and Light for the most part.  I would think that other people who self-identify as healers, lightworkers, empaths , wayshowers, and the like would feel the same way.  As a result, I found it rather disappointing to find so many bigoted and close-minded people who identify as such.  

I learned multiple lessons from the experiences with these two individuals and others like them.  The first is that you cannot trust everyone who identifies themselves as a healer, lightworker, healer, wayshower, empath and any other fancy metaphysical title.  A persons words and actions will show you if they are true or not.  As there were false prophets and teachers back in the day, they too exist now.   The second lesson I learned is that it is important to keep yourself protected and connected.  Your spirit guides and higher self will let you know whether or not something is for your highest good.  If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't which leads me to my third point which is to trust yourself. Lastly, I realized that I have access to all of the answers that I need.  Yes, it can be great to have someone to mentor your, however at the end of the day, you must lean on and trust yourself.  You have access to the same information that they do.  You just have to believe it.
