I don’t know who needs to hear this but NEVER lower your standards for anyone or anything and ALWAYS listen to your intuition. If someone or something doesn’t sit right with you, even if you can’t put your finger on why, leave. You can reflect on it later. If someone is not treating you like you deserve, leave. If something isn’t bringing you peace, stop or leave the situation. I’ve learned this the hard way many a times. It’s never worth it, and my intuition has never once been wrong about that person or situation. You and your peace are worth everything. Never settle for less. Never compromise.

Also if you're someone who is tempted to look up specific information about the execution in AL: simply don't. What happened was truly awful and putting it into your brain won't help. The Supreme Court failed to do anything to stop it, but Justice Sotomayor's dissent is worth reading for a legal take. Other than that, trust me, it will only ruin your day.
