"All is fair in love and war"
I have never really understood what this quote meant. I have recently come to discover my own meaning of it. Others may have their version of what this means, but we all interpret things differently. For me, this means basically what it says, everything is fair when it comes to love. Love doesn't measure right and wrong and there certainly is no wrong answer when it comes to love.
So many of us try and figure out if it is wrong to do this or that when it comes to love. "Should I say I love you first?", "Should I be vulnerable and trust this person?", "Should I forgive him/her?", "Should I wait and give this relationship time to see where it could go?". These are all questions of love that we all try and answer, but no matter how much advice you get or question it, there is no wrong or right answer.
Your peers may be able to offer you some advice when it comes to love, but when it comes down to it, that is their own version. You are not living their life or their version of what love is. The only way you can really get some sort of answer to those questions is from your heart. When you follow your heart, you may get hurt or you may not. At least with following your heart, you gave love a "fair" shot.
