THE NERDS ARE PLAYING THE FLOOR IS LAVA AND GABE'S TAKING IT W A Y TOO SERIOUSLY

Sam opened the door to the Stanford dorms and sighed. Someone was playing the floor is lava. Again. Except whoever this person was, they look it way too seriously. This time, they’d taken it over the top, with paint being strewn across the floor in a thick coat of orange, yellow and red. Sam took his shoes off, jammed them into his backpack, and climbed into the first chair in the hall, neatly stepping down onto a cushion, and up onto another chair. As he proceeded delicately across the corridor, he saw someone standing on a chair right in the center, covered in paint and wearing a jaunty pirate hat.

 “Is this your doing?” he asked incredulously. One person? Pulling all this off?

 “The one, the only, Gabriel Novak.” He bowed, holding the hat to his head. “Son of a millionaire, therefore I can afford this much paint, and the refurbishments afterwards, but honestly, playing the floor is lava when there’s no lava is dull.”

 “I- I guess?” Sam was so confused. This guy did all this, just to play the floor is lava.

 “What’s your name Sasquatch?” He asked, hopping from chair to chair like this was all he did in his spare time, standing nearer to Sam.

 “Sam, Sam Winchester.”

 “Well, Sam, it’s was nice to me-” He flailed as his chair wobbled, slipping in the paint and he fell right in it, orange splatting up and decorating Sam’s jeans. How much paint was there even. Gabriel floundered in the slippery mess, making a noise that sounded like a “help” up at Sam. He couldn’t help it, the little vandal was adorable. Bending over, Sam reached to grab Gabriel, but the paint made his grip slip, and he ended up covered in paint too. He looked at the ‘lava’ all over him before laughing harder than he had done in a long time. Gabriel raised an eyebrow.

 “Sam, we just died a horrific death by lava and you’re laughing?”

 “Well, Gabriel, if we’re dead, we must be in Heaven, because I haven’t laughed this hard in years, not since Dad went AWOL at least.” He grinned, raising one paint covered hand to draw a heart on Gabriel’s face. “Thank you.” he sighed happily. Gabriel blinked, before drawing a heart on Sam’s cheek too.“You wanna get cleaned up and go out for coffee?” Gabriel asked, a smudge of orange right across his nose. Sam beamed. Maybe the insane floor is lava enthusiast was okay.
