It is just a sketch, but I hope it carries my adoration for your work. How you handled Leo’s fear and sickness mixed with the worry and care of the village medic was very well done. I also love that you had the whole fic in her perspective— it made me, the viewer, see Leonardo from an outsiders eyes. I know that Leo would never harm anyone trying to help him, but someone who’s never seen a turtle man would think quite differently. And then the constant vigil the medic keeps over Leo— helping him through the pain of the poison and sickness— was so sweet to see. I adore maternal characters who handle their patients with care and gentleness rather than annoyance and passiveness.
And then on the other side of things, I really appreciate you showing us how Leo handles being cared for by a human he doesn’t even know. He flinches, and winces, and even stops the medic from taking his swords even in his sickly state… but as soon as he looks the medic in the eyes— sees her genuineness and worry— he relents. I felt horrible for him as the poison worsened. He was so weak and helpless… two words that would NEVER be used to describe the eldest Hamato brother.
Overall, I will continue to enjoy this beautiful story for years to come. And I may even draw more sketches based on your other stories if I get the time.
