Next to Me - Golden afternoon sun, early evening, a chill in the air, sitting on a park bench swinging your legs, watching people stroll by and the pulsing leaves, nudging up way too close to the men
My Momma - Driving through the streets, messy long hair, stars beginning to show, holding hands and wiping tears but turning the music up to sing along, parking on the edge of town and leaning together talking quietly as it gets darker.
Bad Disease - Wandering the midnight streets, neon lights glowing and lighting up your skin, smiling at all the guys who pass by and getting cigarettes off them, blowing smoke as you smile back, shorts and jacket resting on your elbows, dirty hi-tops with laces trailing.
Out With a Bang - Sitting by the river early morning, cold grey skies matching the rippling water, sitting in the long velvet grass watching the unsettling movements from the wind, tangling your fingers into the green plants, long skirts and no shoes.
Westbound - Sitting on swings in a rundown park, scuffing the dust with your shoes, gently swinging and thinking about life, watching the dark clouds pass and feeling goosebumps over your skin, rain gently tickling, tipping your head right back and kicking your legs up, alone with the flowers struggling against the weeds.
Try Tonight - Sitting on the windowsill, watching the huge moon in the sky, moonlight, the only light, glowing on your face, distant trees swaying, blanket tangled around your legs, clouds drifting by gently, leaning your head against the wall, feelings of sadness and comfort.
All You Need - Slowly drifting off to sleep, the window and curtains wide open to let in the moonlight, deeply breathing and counting the seconds you inhale and exhale, the stars gently twinkling comfortingly, candles blown out and dry flowers lying in the silvery glow by your bed.
I’m Indebted to You - White silk and shared wine, dark room in a candlelit glow, golden rings and tears as the red wine splashes down your throat and sprinkles the white, holding hands and the overwhelming feeling of love.
Pretty Baby - Hands on your hips and your arms round their neck, slowly swaying, bodies pressed tight together, your lips ghosting over their neck, their jaw, fingers tangled in each other’s hair, lipstick staining pale skin, uncertain kisses and hidden tears.
Aviation - Bright blue skies, clear with only dark bird silhouettes flying over head, brown fur jacket and hair rippling in the wind, big smiles and arms held high in the feeling of freedom, planes distant and silent in the sky, lying back in green grass to watch them pass by.
Find My Own Way - Heavy snow and dark blue skies, cold crisp flowers frozen in the garden, red and purple hidden beneath clear ice, ravens fluttering on the branches of trees, crunching through the snow in the empty streets with hands in your pockets with your skin frozen but cheeks warm with worry, steadily wandering and breathing out the negativity.
Pride - Staring blankly at the television, holding hands but they’re cold, sitting close but barely touching, sunlight struggling to break through, staring through the crack of the curtains at the blue sky.
Birds of a Feather - Long summers of fun, crazy nights and happy days inside, photographs scattered on the ground, sugary sweet drinks in American diners, dancing shoeless to jukeboxes and jamming together on old guitars, sunlit days and warm nights, hard laughing and happy tears.
For K, Part 1 - Sitting late at night on the floor, sipping alcohol and crying heavily, hair pushed right back, sifting through photographs and wondering about life, the tang on your tongue as strong as your tears, lying against the sofa and watching the time tick on the clock.
A Star for Nick - Empty wooden stage, broken microphone, standing under the wonky spotlights and dreaming of what could be, single cigarette and empty chairs.
Idk this was difficult but there’s such a similar sound to all these songs and they’re possibly her more personal ones, but I love doing these; I like requests
