(Not So) Dark Sides
Hey so first off this first part of this was written before the newest video as of May 1st but the second half has a few spoilers. Also yes I head cannon calling deceit JD. Also no real tw other than a slightly sad Remus
Remus was feeling small and didn't know what to do. He normally went to Deceit (and Virgil) when he was small but deceit was busy helping Thomas.
He knew who he had to go to but he really didn't want to because he was scared that he would be mad at him. But he also knew the rules coincidentally the same rules that he set.
Remus quickly jumped up carrying his stuffed octopus ,Cee, with him. He ran to his room and knocked looking around nervously.
"Who's there?" Virgil called from inside his room. "Me" Remus called shakily. Remus heard shuffling inside Virgil's room before Virgil opened the door and looked at Remus.
"Hun? Do you want to come in?" Virgil said, opening the door for Remus to come in. "Can I?" Remus said nervously, really wanting to run up and snuggle into his ViVi's arms. "Yeah Bubba come here" Virgil said, opening his arms.
Remus quickly ran into his ViVi's open arms. Virgil quickly scooped Remus up as Remus squealed in delight. "How old are you, Rem?"
"I'm five!" Remus chirpee happily. "Wow such a big boy! Does the big boy need anything?" Remus smiled happily. "Uh can I have something to eat? Dee has been out all day so I didn't get anything to eat"
"Oh bub why didn't you come get me?" Virgil asked worriedly. "I didn't wanna bother you, specially cause I thought you didn't like me." Remus said whispering the last part.
"I always wanna help you out kiddo now let's go and get you something to eat"
(At this point everything here on out was written as of the May 1st video)
Virgil was in the kitchen putting together some food when he heard a whoosh and felt someone's face in his back.
"Hi there Dee, how did the video go?" Virgil asked quickly making some food for Dee as well. "They know that my name is Janus"
"Oh hun I'm so proud of you! Good job for telling them, '' Virgil said, praising deceit, who he could now call Janus even though the smaller boy still preferred Dee.
"Now how about we get you and Remus some food, does that sound good JD?" Virgil said using his favorite nickname for Janus.
"Yea pease" Dee said, going to sit with Remus in the living room while Virgil brought them their lunch. Virgil was so proud of his kiddos.
Ok listen up y'all Sanders Sides lovers as of the new video Deceits name was revealed to be Janus ergo he's Janus Deceit Sanders which means I shall be calling him JD and no one can stop me

💚 Neither Remus nor Deceit are particularly good at exchanging conventional “I love you’s” with one another. Deceit struggles with expressing his emotions in both an open and honest way, while Remus typically finds words like “Love” far too icky and complicated. No matter how accurate the word may be, it will always sound forced coming from the dark trait’s mouth. Fortunately, the two Sides have found their own unique ways of saying “I love you” to each other without ever actually having to use any words.
💛 For Deceit, saying “I love you” simply means being there for his partner and listening to his seemingly endless list of twisted ideas long after midnight. For Deceit, saying “I love you” simply means accompanying his partner on a grand heist to steal Patton’s latest baked goods. For Deceit, saying “I love you” simply means holding his quivering partner close at night and gently playing with his messy hair until the worst of his intrusive thoughts subside.
💚 For Remus, saying “I love you” simply means re-watching that one scene in “Harry Potter” over and over again in a desperate attempt to try and understand Parseltongue. For Remus, saying “I love you” simply means summoning a legion of little danger noodles to “Do Dee’s evil bidding for him!” For Remus, saying “I love you” simply means immediately trying to get rid of the aforementioned nope-ropes when it becomes abundantly clear they’re far more venomous than they are obedient. Oh no… Oh God! Oh fu-
💛 For Deceit, saying “I love you” simply means helping Remus to corral an army of snakes, lecturing him for summoning said army of snakes, then softly kissing him on the nose once he’s sure they’re no longer at risk of being devoured by an army of snakes.
💚 For Remus, saying “I love you” simply means taking the time to learn from his past mistakes, and deciding to craft a knitted snake his partner can keep as an evil sidekick instead.
I understand it’s spelt “Janus” but I’d go “Dark Side” too if my name sounded like “Janice.”
Friendly reminder that Thomas referred to Janus as an “imperfection” during the video - he wasn’t simply calling his side “imperfect.”
“Everyone has a capacity for deceit - including me! And all that means is... I’m not perfect.”
Perhaps this was just a poor choice of words, but it almost sounds as though Thomas is calling Deceit himself a flaw.
