Finally grew brave enough to start trying to draw them!! I am not entirely satisfied but I’m pretty happy with how they came out :] I am so, so abysmally bad at sketching digitally so these are digitally colored pencil sketches. Hopefully I will draw more Soon

holy fucking shit.

☆ i went public gearing today—wore my tail out for the first time visiting my future college. i don’t know what made me do this, i just felt determination to because i know i’ll never get comfortable wearing gear ever unless i get over my crippling fear of judgement now and just start doing shit. although she doesn’t know about the real reason i wear this tail, my mom luckily supports my creativity even if she finds it weird and doesn’t get it, so i didnt get many comments from her (and even if i did i wouldnt be bothered regardless, ik she’s a classic of her time).

i felt mortified. of course i did. i often dress rather alternative already—black lipstick, eyeliner, star pants, chains—so i knew i’d stand out for that alone (especially in a room of normalcy, and being the only black person, like cmon…). but a tail as well? i caught myself judging my appearance way harsher than anyone else around me did even though i hardly got many looks at all—hell even got some compliments. my anxiety diminished into minor paranoia by the end of the trip, but i never thought i’d ever get the courage to do that so soon even as simple as it is.

i cringe at myself a lot man, i feel like everything i do specifically isnt right, or it’s weird, or i’m somehow doing something wrong by.. existing the way that i do. even when i copy someone else’s exact actions trying to learn something, it feels like i’m doing something wrong like it’s my first day on earth or something (is this an autism thing?), especially when something somehow goes wrong or an interaction ends up awkward (which, there’s like a 60/40 chance it will). Even with this blog—I question my validity, my sense, I judge myself for even being on this platform even though it’s the only place I have for this shit.

but, despite all of that, I still fucking did it. I still walked around that campus with my tail, I still make these posts, and I’m still gonna dress as weird and as cool as I want… i think.
