I just want to be clear that all the spinoff games are just that to me. The only version of the Grunts, Strangetown, etc., that matters is The Sims 2.
We all get the same setup in the game that we have to piece together and play out, and all of our stories are equally valid.
That's the beauty of it.
Hi! You may have answered this somewhere else, but I was wondering if/when you'll be posting your egyptian legacy. I wasn't sure if it was just a personal project (and I love the sneak peak pictures!) or something you were going to upload somewhere. :)
Hi. :) So here’s the deal with that. I have planned this “legacy” for nearly 10 years at this point! It was always going to be a two part process; first, I would play through ten generations under normal legacy rules, and then use clones of the born-in Sims to stage the story that I’ve (partially) already written, which is flexible enough to include inspiration from the actual play through. I can play through the legacy pretty fast, but what is causing my reluctance to start staging the story is the huge lack of ancient Egyptian CC I have.
I can probably make due with the stuff I’ve collected over the years, but it will take time to make recolors (some of it is OLD and not very good quality but the meshes are fine) which is something I just can’t seem to find the TIME for, mostly because I have to also learn how to do it as I go. Objects are one thing, but clothes… omg I need about 300 times more than what I’ve got so everyone isn’t wearing the exact same thing. In fact I really need a unique outfit for every character. And this goes for hair as well! D:
To be honest, I was kinda hoping that everyone would sort of forget I started this so I didn’t feel compelled to finish it! I’m not a quitter, but I’m unfortunately a perfectionist, so putting out something below my own standard won’t do. In that case it just doesn’t get made public.
That doesn’t mean I won’t eventually publish it. I’ve pretty much decided to par it down considerably. I will do a series of short stories instead of the epic multi-generational drama I originally planned. But with a cast of a hundred or so characters - that’s still a lot of clothes and hair to make! :P Also, I have to build sets and backdrops and… ugh, yeah.
TL;DR version: I don’t have a planned release date for the Egyptian legacy story. The factors holding me back are bigger than the allotted time I have to devote to it. But that doesn’t mean it will never happen! I have this thing stuck in my head and I need to get it out some way or another. Maybe not how I originally planned though.
You are the most creative simmer I've seen in so long. I love your content! It's so inspiring! Thank you for building cool lots. I am excited to see what you continue to come up with.

I've wondered about that! There's an arch that I think doesn't quite match either. It looks like the side swirl up rather than be straight wood. But it's hard to tell with those tiny thumbnails.
I guess after some items got a design change they forgot to update the thumbnail. I didn’t even notice that fence for 12+ years so there might be loads of other “mistakes” in plain sight that I won’t spot for years. XD
SOMETHING ELSE I just found out about TS2 that I didn’t know before. If a hotel room has any kind of decoration in it the value appreciates and the daily room rate increases! And because that hotel I built and painstakingly decorated over the past two days has a couple of paintings and a plant in each room, that §580-a-day room becomes §950+ over the course of a few days. *weeps*

I’ve never seen that menu option.
It’s definitely an autonomous thing. It happens when teens in low aspiration "act out", they will destroy a painting if it's on the easel. I have no idea if adults can do it! I've only seen teens do this.
