The Plan: As much as I love the Banished Build-a-City Challenge, I’ve decided I want to alter it a bit. Instead of starting with medieval technologies and a group of 12 sims, I’m starting with two (berry) sims in a hunter-gatherer society. They have access to a perfect garden (Eden) full of produce that they can eat.
Other Basics: Seasons are limited to Summer and precipitation is off for Gen. 1. The moon cycle is set to 8 days. Lifespan is set to 320 days. Sims are only allowed to eat raw fruits and vegetables during the first generation. (Babies and toddlers are still given bottles.)
Founder: Celebríen Lasgalen is a silvery, pale lady who uses Scatter Opals 14 skin. Her hair and eyes are very light grey. Her traits are Family Oriented, Gatherer, Loves Animals, Loves the Outdoors, and Vegetarian. LTW-Zoologist (Collect 20 small animals from the wild)
Mate: Eryn Lasgalen: is a green gent who uses Scatter Fruits 6 skin. His hair and eyes are a lovely shade of green, like his skin. His traits are Charismatic, Eco Friendly, Equestrian, Nurturing and Gatherer. LTW--Fairytale Finder (Adopt a Unicorn)
Start-up: They purchased an empty 60x60 lot. Their belongings include a tent, a refrigerator and storage cases for insects and rocks (sims get glitchy when their inventories have too much in them.) When it comes time for children they are allowed to purchase a baby playmat (from buydebug), cribs and sleeping bags as needed. A horse stall, ball and salt lick may be purchased if Eryn accomplishes his LTW. Any needed funds will come from selling produce from their inventory. (There is a basic bathroom on the Eden lot.)
Theme: I’m using Sindarin for the names of my sims. Sindarin is one of the languages invented by J.R.R. Tolkien for his books set in Middle Earth. The dictionary I’m using is available here. The names of my characters may overlap with some of Tolkien’s characters and place names, but this is unintentional. I’m not trying to create scenes from any of his writings or the related media productions. I’m just a fan exploring the languages for fun and have grown bored with my usual naming schemes.
