Hello there everyone. I’m aware that Eliana made an update on Yuuto just yesterday, and here's to hoping we won't get someone's hopes up, as updates probably won't happen this frequently from now on. But having most of my family live in Japan, and them constantly asking me questions about how me and my family are doing, I’ve decided to take the chance to post a quick update on our daughter. I don’t have time to be on phone 24/7 after all, but a few are curious about how she’s doing. She's taken the whole "becoming a big sister" extremely well, especially considering how little interest she showed during the pregnancy. It seems she just needed to meet him, and it’s like we’re seeing a different person. She's a pretty easy-going and content child as is, and she hasn't shown any negative feelings towards him—in fact, she's more involved that I would have imagined her to be. We were more nervous about her than we need to be. She's not even two years old, but has turned out to be more "mature" and understanding than we thought. She's pretty helpful, too, and will bring us his blanket or binky whenever she senses he needs them. I'm starting to get excited for when he’s old enough for them to play together, despite really enjoying the newborn stage right now.
On another note, I decided to throw in a picture of the kids' "play room," if you can call it that. Most of Keiko's toys are in her own room, but she seems to prefer playing in this one. It’s pretty much the space from the kitchen and living room, leading to their bedrooms, so we decided to use it for them. It's a pretty comfy room, to be honest, and I know Ellie likes to just sit and relax in there, maybe with a book or something. But I think that's it for this blog post, so take care, and hope to see you again 👋🏼
Good afternoon everyone. Today, it’s been 2 weeks and 2 days since we welcomed little Bodhi into our family. He’s doing amazingly well, though he did lose a few ounces within the first week of his life. But I mean, it’s not like it will hurt him—he weighed over 10 pounds at birth after all. Whenever someone comes to visit us, they always have to comment on how big he is, and he looks HUGE especially in photos (might be because I’m small, haha). I’m also recovering well, and is generally doing pretty good. Bodhi and I love to sleep, and despite waking up a lot during the night and having to get up early every morning, I still sleep better than when I was pregnant. That sounds crazy, right?
Our three older children have adjusted well to Bodhi. It’s very obvious how much they love him already, and I very much love watching them interact with him. Lumi has claimed Bodhi as her new best friend, and if allowed to, I'm sure she would carry him around at all times. Max is very dedicated when it comes to his plants and studying, so he's not spending as much time with his new baby brother as his sister, but he does very much enjoy holding him, and "play" with him. Clair has warmed up to him a lot. She was a little hesitant and confused around him at first, but will be the first to run and check on him at every chance she gets. She can be a little rough, yes, and we will remind her to be gentle, but it's all new and exciting for her right now, and she will learn and grow as time passes.
As for my husband, he is doing fine. He does seem to stress more about the little things than I do, and is currently trying to adjust to going back to work after spending two weeks at home. We’re all slowly but surely getting the hang of everything, and every new day becomes a little easier than the previous. The kids are pretty used to following a schedule, so while their parents are running around like headless chickens on some days, they will do what they are used to. We will get there, haha. And the house? Yes, we are currently re-decorating. It’s going to be a slow process, but it will be worth it.
As you can see, I really like dark colors, and is almost as much of a fan of plants as our oldest son. But I think that’s going to be it for now. I hope you’re doing well out there, and take care. Lots of love,
