Hidden Images in Final Me! Scene 🤔 - The Foxes Are No Longer Running?
Here I am, posting about this scene again 🙈
We know Taylor hides things in the background, she has made that even more clear as of late. So I knew that there were probably hidden images in the rainbow paint in that final scene. Unfortunately, my brain doesn't like to visualize and "zoom outward" to see the big picture, so I didn't really analyze the paint for hidden images.
Luckily though, @jleahc did and sent me a couple screen shots !
First up, is the most obvious of all. Maybe others have noticed this, but this is the first I did.
No doubt about it, it's 1000% a fox. This is particularly worth noting, because we of course all know she has previously used foxes as a metaphor for her love life. In I Know Places, Taylor compares her and her lover running from the paparazzi, media, etc, to foxes running from hunters: "They are the hunters, we are the foxes... They got the cages, they got the boxes... And we run." The hunters are pulling out all the stops, but Taylor knows places they can hide. Both literal, as I'm sure she has all the secure private property she needs, but also metaphorical, as in the closet and the beards. I specifically believe IKP is about the protection that the beards give her and her true private relationships.
This makes even more sense when you consider a particular piece of clothing Taylor wore on a public outing with Harry Styles, circa "Haylor".
It is believed that she was really with Dianna during this period, and Harry was used for both publicity and a distraction from Dianna. Since we know how far ahead Taylor plans, it can be assumed that this was an intentional choice of clothing, or the clothing later gave Taylor the inspiration for the lyrics of IKP. Of course if you believe Haylor was real, you might think they are both the foxes, running from the media swarm that accompanied this "date". But that's not the case - Taylor is the fox (as her clothing is literally pointing out) but she's hiding her true self in plain sight, with the help of the beard and the closet.
Taylor appears to have continued to relate to foxes, considering her choice of comfortable footwear. In the sweet, intimate homevideo of Taylor playing Call It What You Want, we see her wearing fox slippers. It's clear that Taylor wanted to appear comfortable and natural (the way she is at home with her love), so slippers are an obvious choice, but the foxes say something else. For a song that many have speculated shouts-out Karlie by name (Karlie what you want), this is an interesting use of her pre-established metaphor. The foxes are still running, but they are still there, hidden by the closet and bearding protection she established. That bearding/closet allowed her to say Karlie's name, without them getting caught.
More recently, the fox slippers made yet another appearance, this time in a BTS shot from the Me! Video.
Again, this appears to me to be a deliberate choice. Taylor was wearing heels during this scene. I can understand wearing slippers while rehearsing, or during a shot where shoes aren't necessary, but to include them in this shot, knowing full well that people will see them? It's just very curious. Particularly for the scene many are comparing to bearding. The rehearsed fight, the other language making it seem so ridiculous, the picture perfect (but not real) world. An interesting place for the foxes to appear. It seems they really are no longer hiding.
The second screenshot I was sent appears to be a set of angel wings.
I was more hesitant to make this conclusion at first, because angel wings are quite ambiguous. This could be a random blob that just resembles angel wings, and the last thing I want to do is "reach". But the more I've looked at this picture, the more I'm sure that it's an intentional inclusion of angel wings. The left hand side in particular resembles the feathers typically seen in angel wings. All very curious when you consider the significance of this rainbow paint.
Finally, @jleahc sent me this third picture, which we agree is not as obvious or conclusive as the other two.
They thought it may resemble a cat, and I'm really not sure. I see a face, but can't zoom my brain out to see anything else 🙈.
With that all being said, I welcome any and all thoughts, opinions, or additions. Maybe there's something we have completely missed!
Also, a plug to my first long winded post about this scene. This scene just screams important to me !
That Final Rainbow Scene 🤔
The final scene in the Me! video is obviously very striking. It is clearly significant. The rainbow appears to ha
