I felt so bad for Noam in the novella. He was under so much pressure being the only one to denounce Leher and being harassed by the press and still dealing with the trauma. I felt like Dara was being too hard on him and hasn't "forgave" Noam for Leher. I just wanted to hug Noam because I felt that while Dara had the "right" to feel angry and had validation of his feelings, Noam didn't, until the end when they talked, of course.
yeah imo noam is the real victim of the novella storyline, because dara was more of a “classic” victim this time around and didn’t understand what noam was going through. and it sucks because noam really needed dara to understand and to forgive him, and dara just couldn’t at first--which is also understandable sort of, because dara was trying to process his own trauma, but also like...not, because victim-blaming is never okay? and noam is already the public face of all this shit? but anyway they both get therapists and also go to couple’s counseling and dara goes to rehab and they work through it.
In your novella about Dara and Noam, why exactly DID Calix want to see Noam again? Like he wanted to have some kind of goal but I don’t know what that goal was
mostly just to establish his power over noam. he wanted to prove that if he asked to see noam, noam would come running, because noam was still invested in him (and he was right). he also lowkey hoped he could talk noam into releasing him but it quickly became clear that was a nonstarter.
as promised...the two feverwake novellas are live! they're free at B&N right now and $0.99 on amazon. (the amazon price should be updated to free shortly, but i didn't want you to have to wait!) they'll stay free the first week, then will go to 99 cents
