THIS EPISODE IS SO GOOD
a lot of shadouge which if we're right about rouge being amy in disguise this may be peak shadamy content
And quoted from the episode,
"You know I can't compete with a ghost, shadow. And I can't stand to see you in pain. Heartache can't hide from someone who knows it as well as I do."
If were right about amy pretending to be rouge (which crazy amy honestly already acts a little bit like rouge so it's not out of the question for rouge to still be amy in disguise even if rouge is acting exactly like rouge) Then this may be amy venting her own frustrations out through the character she plays during this mission.
Amy can't really compete with the supposed ghost of the amy the real sonic said he once knew, and sonic can't truely compete with the bond the original sonic and amy made.
"Given that power, you know what I'd do with it. She'd need me more than ever. There'd be no more time for... Us."
"But there ain't no us, is there sheriff.."
this may also be an allegory for amy aswell. Amy may know deep down that she doesn't really actually know the "real" sonic, and she doesn't have a bond with him. Everything has happened so suddenly, and nothing has happened between them, that Amy is getting impatient and considering what she may know to be the fact that she doesn't actually love this sonic, she loved her sonic. There isn't any "us", there is no "sonic and Amy" because shes starting to suspect she's still being manipulated. Also, when rouge went in for the kiss, it was interrupted, and she says "ghost wins again..." which is almost EXACTLY like when amy said "you better be worth the wait, bozo.."
this series is genuinely so peak and I'm so happy I love tsaa so much it's definitely my special interest 😇😇😇😇
