been navelgazing about my own au/my self-insert and like her Studied mysticism, e.g. she and hawkins learned form the same sources and developed different pratices, versus her line "it helps to be exotic" in suit of cups chapter 8 and drake POV noticing her race more than any other because i watched golden kamuy while writing tshag, so i was thinking of asirpa not caring for inkarmat while she makes money off the japanese. and then i read the terror around the time i wrote the drake bj interrogation, so while the british narrators' view of lady silence is foul and racist, it colors my take on the one piece navy + i'm more interested in golden kamuy being skeptical of this part of ainu culture as spectacle for the colonizer than the terror written by a white guy just like accepting psychic abilities and shamanism. also crozier is witch-adjacent by being irish and attending Some catholic masses as a child
