A few years ago I bought this XXL ironman tee to wear as pajamas because it was the only size left. Today I decided it was time to upcycle it into daywear! I used one of my fav wide-sleeve tops as a pattern and did my best to get the shapes right. I’m happy with how it turned out :)

To the new followers, welcome! Since so many people have liked and re-blogged round 2 of my Fallout shirt, I'll see if I can throw together a basic T-shirt surgery walkthrough over the weekend. Also, fabric stenciling. It's nothing too complicated, just a culmination of looking at A LOT of shirt surgery on Pinterest, and a bit of experience.
Last night's mini project...reclaiming a too small tshirt by turning it into a tank top! This was a gift from a friend who knew how much I love Star Trek but envisioned me much smaller than I really am, so it was always too small in the bust area. By cutting into the arm hole to release the strain over my chest, it actually fits now. Edges finished with some wide fold over elastic because it's quick and easy!

Wintersun tshirt surgery was a success! I even ruffled the sleeves for a little extra pizzaz... Just wish the pictures did a little more justice.
It's the one thing about band tshirts for me: I don't like girlies because I prefer loose tops, but the collars on the unisex tees really bother me. So I have to get creative! Plus I'm just not much of a "jeans and t-shirt" kinda style, so everything gotta be fancy 4 me I guess. This way, I'll totally wear it.
Pointers: if you have a sewing machine or can sew, stitch a sturdy hem to keep the fabric from fraying and rolling! I learned this the hard way from my Finntroll tee when I just cut it and threw it in the wash a week later... Stitching assures that the tee will stay this way for good and won't fray.
Still waiting for Wintersun to get my VIP/Soundcheck review... I sent it to the management yesterday. I will post it when they do!
Looking for cool T-shirt surgeries to turn an XL t-shirt into one I can wear everyday (hopefully before next Thursday)
