Routine Questions- @tsims

1) What does your sim do outside of work?

When I have big families, I try to have the parents go see their friends twice a week. Usually they just come home and spend time with their kids. When I have a single sim, they go out to bars and party. They come home before 12 am, so they can be energized for work the next morning.

2) What does your sim do with their weekend?

When I have families, I send them camping or have the kids hang out with their friends in the day. The parents will hang out with their friends at night or go on a date and come back late.

3) Do your sims have hobbies or side gigs/skills? When do they do them? Do they have major life goals theyre working on?

All of my sims tend to have hobbies and extra skills because I play on a long lifespan. They will do them after school or work. They do have major life goals, but I tend to take them slowly because I want their life to be filled with many memories.

4) Do your sims have close friends? Do they keep up with them? When and how? How about dating? Are they in a relationship or seeking one? How to they maintain their relationship or seek one out?

All of the sims that I play with have close friends and they keep up with them by calling them or hanging out. I usually use the weekends or weeknights to hang out with their friends. My teens don’t really go on dates because they are mainly in clubs and have jobs. They talk to their s/o at school or afterschool. My young adult sims usually go on dates with different people once a week before they commit to a relationship. They go on at least 3 dates with each person before deciding. My adult sims are typically in relationships and go on dates multiple times a week, but once a week is the minimum. My sims maintain their relationships by texting or calling during the week and hanging out on weekends.

5) How often do you actually keep to routine needs? Do your sims eat at home, restaurants, do picnics, or do they get takeout? How about hygiene? Do you have times when they shower etc? I keep up with my sims’ needs pretty well. Most of the time, my sims eat at home. My sims keep up with their hygiene as well. I try to always have my sims take a shower before bed or before they go to work/school. 

6) Do they have pets (major or minor) or “pet like” hobbies (the sprites from university, or just buying/taking care of plants like university? Do they have routines for that? When I have major pets, I have them stick to one sim in the family and they act as their primary caregiver. I sometimes forget my pets :0.

7) Do you try to integrate your townies into your routines? How? (Say, neighborhood parties etc)

I do! I try to have parties once a season.

8) How do you manage finances in the game? Do your sims take loans? What do they do with money they make? What are the hinge they save up for? How much money do they make? Do they get paid hourly, get a stipend, or get paid based on sales or odd jobs? 

I don’t :/. My sims only take loans if they are really struggling, which is a lot. Most of the money that they make stays in the family coffers. My sims with big families typically make $2000 a day. They work hourly jobs. 

9) How often do you cheat mundane things like needs?

Only when they have babies.

10) And finally, what mods do you use to maintain these routines?

Nraas mods and More Sims in Clubs.

A lot of the time the Covington’s are homebound, as it’s not easy to run and maintain a family house.

2) What does your sim do with their weekend?

It depends on their traits. A lot of the time they’ll build their skills for their career, but other times they’ll attend a game as a family or go to the festival. And the founder/heir and their partner will go on the odd date to see a movie and get food.

3) Do your sims have hobbies or side gigs/skills? When do they do them? Do they have major life goals they're working on?

Again, like the previous answer, it depends on their traits. If they’re artistic, then they’ll spend a lot of time painting. If they’re a genius, then they’ll play chess a lot etc. With the life goals I try and find “easier” ones to manage like “Surrounded by Family” or be “CEO of a Corporate Company” etc.

4) Do your sims have close friends? Do they keep up with them? When and how? How about dating? Are they in a relationship or seeking one? How to they maintain their relationship or seek one out?

I try and have my Sims have at least one close friend throughout their life, and invite them over to the house or different places in the town. When it comes to dating, I often start off with two sims, and have them build a relationship and eventually get married.

I’m very much a perfectionist, so I try and keep my Sims’ needs all in green, and if they’re running low when they’re at work/school, then I usually cheat them.

Unfortunately I never had the chance to play with pets when I had my laptop, because the game would crash and glitch. But now that I’ve got a proper PC, I’ve been taking advantage of all the things I couldn’t do in the game.

No. I don’t tend to have parties, but with my current game, I use it as an excuse to catch up with the family and change their looks if necessary.

I try and have at least one of my sims have a 9-5 regular job, and then the other sim can work at home if they’re a writer or an artist etc.

Two words. A lot.

10) And finally, what mods do you use to maintain these routines?

Nraas mod is my best friend. And story progression. I couldn’t live without those.
