Look it's snake husband (the snake in the mountains update!)

You’re excited when Sans tells you someone is on a quest towards the mountain.
*sneaks up behind you* SURPRISE HAVE A SNAKE
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23855497/chapters/101188518
You wanted to give back to Sans' kindness. And you learn more about the guardian under the night sky.

(monotone voice) Mother. Guess what mother. I wrote a chapter mother. Are you proud mother-
it’s the snake in the mountain!!!!!! There’s a new chapter!!! Can you believe it??? oAOAOOAoa
What if the positions switch? Mc is the snake in the mountains and sans is from the village.
I’m assuming this is TSitM right? Right. So different from the other ask where she’s a snake and sans is still also a snake (this one)!
I imagine if reader was the snake (naga) in the mountain, then the village will consist of monsters like Sans (the kind without special lower-bodies haha)
I imagine reader’s personality would stay the same (but different given the different environment), except now she’s alone in the mountains guarding the leaves. Unlike Sans she’s more timid and would rather hide than do any direct confrontation. Shy as well, she doesn’t like to be seen, which is a problem when she’s given the task of being the tree of “golden leaves”’s guardian. She of course does her job, making deals, though she’s more lenient with the deals. Would rather do something passive like a cursing anyone who doesn’t follow through with their end.
Sans stays mostly the same as well, maybe working in the village as a farmer with his brother. He hears stories of the... different(?) monsters from the outside, tales of a snake woman in the mountains that protects the tree. I imagine their perception of her to be less antagonist-y than the village in tsitm’s views on Sans. She’s seen as less malevolant, probably because of her soft nature, and they understand she has a job to do (though some monsters probably also say her “benevolence” is a facade and she actually wants to dine on your flesh OooOOoOo don’t trust her etc. etc.). Funnily enough... I think Sans would fall in love with the thought of her, hearing the stories just makes him... think of her, imagine what she’s like, this cute snake lady that, from what he’s heard, doesn’t seem like she wants to hurt anyone and only asks for deals out of necessity. She sounds shy and sweet, and Sans would really love to meet her if he’s sure she won’t try to eat him.
I imagine they meet when Papyrus falls ill, and despite their best healing magic, he doesn’t get any better. He’s finally urged to go up the mountain, and when he sees her... oh she’s better than he imagined, only emerging when he steps into the cave. There’s this soft, slightly anxious look on her face when she sees him that makes his soul jump. He imagines many people might underestimate her from the way she acts, but he has no doubt she can fend off any attempt-thieves... though he also doesn’t like the thought of someone taking her as weak and trying to take advantage of that.
Sans needs a moment to process his thoughts when she asks him what he seeks- he’s just thinking about holding her hand and touching her tail.
Of course, when Sans tells her the story she sympathizes with him, she doesn’t WANT to take too much of him but she has to take something equal. Instead of asking for something immediately like how original guardian Sans does, she asks first what they’re willing to part with. And Sans? Almost immediately, in a moment of oh my stars i love you, just blurts out
“my soul.”
She... probably panics at that, she doesn’t want to take his soul, that sounds too much-
(Meanwhile Sans’ blushing and completely serious and completely love-struck at pretty snake lady hksfdjlf)
She tries to ask for something else while she’s thinking of something equal she could take without it being his soul, but I imagine Sans tells her what he cherishes most is his brother, and he went all the way here to save him, so don’t worry about it
Considering it’s his SOUL here, he seems entirely TOO casual about it.
Reader: If you offer me your soul, you might be empty, unless you stay with me-
Sans: PERFECT
Reader: what
Sans: i mean. oh no how horrible, i’d have to stay with you to feel whole... 👀 👀
Since the deal can be taken as “a soul for a soul” and Sans doesn’t offer any other treasure (”What about I take your farm?” “nah, my brother needs that.”), she... reluctantly agrees. Sans probably thinks it’s funny that she’s the one that’s reluctant about the deal, but it’s done, and Sans gets the leaves. Like tsitm Sans she let’s him go home for a week before she has to take his soul, to which Sans comes up to live with her later, and she finds his company a relief after so long living alone... and Sans gets to live with his snake lady crush-
(I imagine you don’thave to worry about Sans. Reader has a duty, yes, but she didn’t really like taking in the first place, so she’ll reach through loopholes to make it so Sans can go home without losing his soul or anything... maybe by “claiming it” as hers with a magic mark, so she still has his soul. She’s a softie, she thinks they chose the wrong naga to take up this guardian business djhks)
What I imagine Naga Mc is.
Sof hazard macaroni

AWWWW THATS SI CUTE AND WHOLESOME agsjrke

Referring to your ask about naga mc and villager sans, how do they do as roommates? Also how does Papyrus react to all this and does he visit?
They end up as very good roommates! I'm thinking reader would probably feel really bad because she thinks she took Sans' soul hostage and forced Sans to stay with her, and Sans just like
"oh yeah, i was forced, haha... nothing could've changed this outcome... wow you're so pretty-"
She'd want to do everything she can to make sure he's comfortable, so she'd make her home very accomodating for him. Really, he can make any place his home if he needs to, but the fact that she prepared her home for him only makes him love her more.
I imagine she'd prepare a bed for him but for the sake of romance let's say he uh... accidentally gets rids of his and when she comes to ask what happened he says "it was the wind." He asks that maybe he could sleep in the bed with her for the night... reader's ready to get off the bed for him but he's all
"no... i don't want you to be uncomfortable for my sake..."
Despite Sans doing everything to get closer with his snakey crush, he doesn't want to make her feel uncomfortable either, like the fic version he's affectionate while being respectful. Reader lays down next to Sans and lets her snake body trail down the nest and curl nearby. Sometimes she'd wake up to Sans' arms around her and his skull on her arm. She... she likes it. A lot. She's been alone for so long and she never really hoped to be close with anyone else, so to have someone hold her like this makes her happy. She wouldn't want to move because she doesn't want to wake him up. When he does, he'll find a very blushy and shy snake lady awkwardly, adorably, telling him good morning.
Sans is persistent in his moves on her and he loves that she's very receptive to everything. Every time he compliments her she blushes, and every time he helps her with something, she looks so giddy and he can see her body wiggling. On that note, Sans helps around her home, and he does everything to convince her that he's perfectly happy to be here, and she's more than glad to have nice company around. She loves it when he holds her or touches her... baby's quite starved for touch and affection.
As for Papyrus, like the mother in the fic, he was at first, very panicky and guilty when he hears that Sans bargained his SOUL. Probably thought he had to go do something to get Sans' soul back. He's a monster who doesn't believe in evil, but he would have to at least try to ask politely for his brother's soul back. Sans tries to calm Papyrus down to no avail, that is, until Sans spills that he really, really likes the snake lady in the mountain.
Papyrus: SO... YOU'RE TELLING ME... GIVING YOUR SOUL TO HER IS YOUR EXCUSE TO LIVE WITH HER?
Sans: ..... yes
Papyrus:
Papyrus: WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE ASKED HER OUT LIKE A NORMAL MONSTER?!
So Papyrus is quite exasperated that Sans did all that just to be with his crush but.. he accepts it. He thinks it's ridiculous but if that's what he wants? He tells Sans to treat her good and not to bother her too much (from what Sans told him, he can tell she'd be nice to him), and that Sans HAS to let him visit sometimes.
Which he does, probably showing up a week/month at a time. He's probably surprise to fidn that you're actually more intimidated of him when he first arrives, especially after Sans tells you thats his brother. But after (quickly) warming up you love his company, and are happy to have a livelier home. Sans knew he wouldn't regret his decision to stay with you.
The Snake Returns

You find that Sans is a much better husband than you thought he'd be.
- guess who got inspired for another chap? òuó
In Snake in the Mountains, I was wondering how big Sans is. I know he is taller that y/n, but is he a giant or can y/n give him a hug? I ask this because in the story when y/n gives Sans the necklace, the necklace is big in her hand but looks like a toy in his hand. I'm pretty sure he's not a giant, but I just want to be sure that I am picturing him correctly in my mind.
He is huge, yes, but he’s not giant! And you can definitely give him a hug!
The necklace looks big in her hand and small in his because... he. Big hamds. Which I like to imagine on most of my Sanses, if not all of them heheh. Imagine the necklace fits in the palm of your hands, and in Sans’ it looks more like a pretty pebble. If you pressed your hand to his, your fingers would juuust reach over his palm.
And in the fic I mention he’s as long as at *least* 10 of you stacked on top of each other. Don’t want to give definite sizes so you can imagine how long he is (*insert lenny face here*) because sometimes when i’m told how long/tall someone is in a fic in precise lengths, I’m sure I can imagine it wrong, but comparing it to yourself sounds more useful! (and that way I can avoid the feet/meter thing ow o’’)
Also of course his skeleton body is as thick as a tree. When you hug him from the from the front, your hands wouldn’t meet. And in the thickest part of his tail, he’s around twice your width (chest? ... bust...? bust. I think.)
So yes. Thick, big. Snake. But not too big to hug. Also a great cuddler.
