The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022-2025) | 3.09 Last Call
dynamics i've been wanting to gif: steven & taylor - the summer i turned pretty There's always that risk, but I feel like you're worth it.
"you just left the brother at the airport after he blew up his whole life for you?" SCREAM.
Alright I get why people are frustrated with episode 9, but calling it a filler episode isn’t accurate. A filler episode is something that adds nothing to the plot, you can skip them and there would be no impact to your understanding of the story.
This episode was important, we needed to see the aftermath of the wedding being called off, how all the characters dealt with it and what directions their stories are going from here. Yes, it was a slow episode, and I would have liked more focus on Belly than Jeremiah, but it did help wrap up the wedding ordeal and show us how Belly and Jeremiah weren’t good for each other. Belly in Paris is finally acting for herself and is now surrounded by people who have no expectations for her, she can figure out who she is now without her past weighing her down. And we see how Jeremiah was never a good partner for Belly, how he is still immature and childish, the fact that he says “a little” when Belly asks if he wants to murder her is honestly horrifying and the fact that he says for her to not call him again in response to Belly not wanting to come back shows how he was never a truly supportive partner.
Something that definitely bothered me though was how Steven was acting, how he’s more worried about taking care of Jeremiah than taking care of his sister or finding her, how he was angry about Jeremiah cheating on his sister for like five seconds before romancing Taylor. I wanted him to be furious, especially after he treated Conrad.
I think the biggest issue with this episode was how they released that new trailer not too long before it was released, it gave us expectations that the episode didn’t meet and made us all feel let down. Hopefully the last two episodes show us Belly’s growth and Bonrad reconnecting and falling back in love.
I know just enough about sports to know that guy just hit a home run.
The only explanation is that Chris is paid by the minute while Jeremiah’s actor was paid 30$ for the whole series so that’s why I see Conrad 5 minutes per episode and Jere is always on the fucking screen
Feels like I’m in the minority but I actually liked this episode, we needed to see the fallout and I was absolutely cackling with Belly’s first adventure in Paris. I think they will skip over the winter and spring pretty quickly with a little compilation of moments (since the show is always set in summer) and then Connie will visit (next episode? pretty please?)
