it took me like 20 minutes to find the original post because tumblr sucks. i ended up having to google it because the tagging system on this site is so terrible.
also i had no idea just how incredibly complicated this idea is until i tried to tl;dr it but the post is here and it is a hot mess.
the bottom line is: obi-wan starts a mercenary company with the surviving kids from melida/daan because the jedi didn’t answer and thus most of the young were slaughtered. they gain legend status almost on par with boba fett in the gffa because they were literally raised by war and are led by fuckin’ obi-wan kenobi, except he really leans into the skilled warrior/master tactician and strategist thing and has no reason to care about diplomacy. naturally, his company is in high demand for anyone who wants to royally fuck up their enemies, and a lot of people think they’re a clan of particularly warlike jawas or something because they’re all short as fuck CHILDREN and hide their faces to keep people from figuring out their real ages.
a series of increasingly batshit coincidences and misunderstandings as outlined in the linked post lead to his mercenary company declaring war on BOTH the republic AND the separatists, taking over melida/daan in the name of the young, and making the neutral systems into a third militarized faction in the clone wars. this includes the mandalorians, because the regent of melida/daan and the duchess of mandalore (who is not a pacifist in this au because without a jedi bodyguard she ended up having to kill a lot of people just to stay alive in her year on the run) are firm allies (and possibly also banging). no one wants to fight both the mandalorians AND a famous band of warriors that took over a whole planet with extreme prejudice (because the melida and the daan deserve to get fucked up after they KILLED THEIR OWN CHILDREN).
this can end happily, with obi-wan and his feral murder gang fixing the galaxy with the power of friendship, harmony, and incredible violence, or it can end with the neutral systems maintaining fierce independence from the empire and being the stronghold of the rebellion. i’m personally VERY fond of the idea of leia being satine’s feral lil protegee, while luke helps obi-wan conquer his demons and heal from what happened to him because of the jedi’s (mostly qui-gon’s) failure to protect him as a child. plus the twins have a bunch of trigger-happy aunts and uncles to help them conquer save the galaxy!
