Facts/tidbits post about Tsutsumi Shinichi! - On his acting style, Okada Junichi commented in the making of the SP: Security Police movies that Tsutsumi seems to have a switch he flicks on and off for getting into character. - During a 2023 Q&A session with Oizumi Yo and Yoshida Yo for Owari ni Mita Machi, Tsutsumi misinterprets a question he's being asked and thinks he's supposed to answer the following: if you could go back to a previous time in your life, when would you go back to? He answers that he wouldn't want to go back in time, he's happy where he is now. (T~T <3) - In the same session, Oizumi, Yoshida and Tsutsumi are asked who among them they each believe would be most likely to survive if they were suddenly teleported back into the 1940s. Oizumi answers that he's confident Tsutsumi would be most likely because of his love of camping; he could rough it. He proceeds to assert that Tsutsumi also knows things like what bugs are safe to eat and Tsutsumi gets indignant even as he laughs, "No, I don't! I don't know things like that!" - During the filming of Owari ni Mita Machi, the staff asked to get the cast together for a group photo. Filming outdoors, they went looking for Tsutsumi and found him with one of the child actors, a young boy, looking at a beetle on a tree with him. They were feeding it a leaf. Oizumi and Yoshida get solid mileage out of inquiring further as Tsutsumi tells them exactly what kind of beetle it was, which further proves to them how much of an outdoors enthusiast/geek he is. - Tsutsumi agrees with Oizumi that the filming of Muromachi Outsiders (Samurai Fury, Muromachi Burai 2025) was "a battle against their hips." The making of showed both actors struggling with the complex swordfighting scenes. Last, a few things from an episode of SMAPxSMAP from 2011, I believe. This was on YouTube and has since been removed so... tiny grain of salt: - Tsutsumi has physically stepped in to help a woman who was being harassed. - At the time of the episode, Tsutsumi said he owned only one suit and he primarily wore it to funerals. - One of the SMAP members (I'm really sorry, I don't recall who but I don't think it was KimuTaku or Tsuyoshi) suggested that Tsutsumi wasn't married but surely he's popular? Tsutsumi shuts this right down, saying that he's not popular at all, he's 47, who would bother with him now? He also said he had absolutely no interest in marrying someone in the business. (He would marry a non-celebrity woman in 2013, they have two daughters together.)
