Random Time Travelers lore be upon ya'll, spoilery for the end of the fic so ignore if you want
The only reason Nightmare didn't die from his magical overcharge is because Reaper has been watching over him since he was a kid and refusing to reap his soul because he knows Nightmare will have a purpose in the future, that is, become a guardian alongside his brother, and Reaper kinda needs them alive for that
So yeah, if it hadn't been for the God of Death himself refusing to kill him, Nightmare would have died before reaching adulthood
Ask game for Teo - What thought or memory your character is aching to share with someone but for whatever reason, never has had the chance?
A memory Teodoro is unable to share...
This is a very, very broad category—all directed at his biological parents and Fig. He wants so badly to share his accomplishments and everything that he's found joy and peace in. He wants to share what he's experienced and how he's grown. But his parents have been gone since he was four and he wasn't able to know Fig longer than a single year. It's a very crushing feeling.
To alleviate it, Teodoro leans on the other adults in his life—chiefly his adopted mother, Mrs. Thakkar (auxiliary mother), Abraham Ronen (pseudo-uncle), and occasionally Edgar Adley (neighbor).
A memory Teodoro is unwilling to share...
This is 100% the death of Solomon Sallow and the fact that Teodoro never tells Sharp at any point in their relationship. So any time things get particularly terse between Sebastian and Teodoro, it leaves Sharp slightly out of the loop. He's genuinely not sure what to make of their friendship some times.

devouring your time traveler au. do you have any like little details or headcannons or literally any fun facts about the characters or the setting or ANYTHING. i might be a little too invested in this.
Hihi thank you, explain to me why my brain blacked out tho, because I think about these sillies all day long but the moment I read "do you have facts about them" my brain went dead
I'm gonna try to summon a thought lmao, and if I think of more I will reblog with the addition (also trying not to spoil because there are facts that will come up later in the story so I can't put them here-)
Killer is the only one aware of everyone's crush (aside from Dream who spotted it right away), he's watching them and trying to guess who will confess or notice first
Dream knows the secrets of almost any noble, his aura makes them more inclined to tell him things, he doesn't do it on purpose though and he very much hates it, he does not want to know who slept with who, who did what and who said what, but he knows... at least he has blackmail material if they piss him off now
Blue went to Ccino's after he saw them dissapear in front of his eyes for the time jump and just drank in silence for a few hours to try and process what happened
I am taking liberties regarding the settings sometimes, mostly about hygiene because I just can't let my boys be stinky so they shall know about basic hygiene and I won't apologize for it
Dust used to smoke but he had to quit in order to save money
In the Meat chapter when Horror brought back meat, I actually don't know where he found it, he might have robbed a butcher shop, he might have found a cow, I don't know, this is a plot hole that I don't plan to fill
Cross is actually one of the strongest knights, he just has low self-esteem
After Nightmare had dissapeared for the first time jump, Dream thought he ran away from home and even though he was devastated he still hoped that his brother was fine wherever he was, he would also walk around the gardens everyday in case he came back
When he was alone Dream would go eat with his servants at their floor because the dining room felt too empty and silent for him, they gossiped a lot about nobles
Cross and Nightmare are both very emotional, the only difference is Cross has a hard time hiding his feelings while Nightmare had to learn to keep a straight face because displays of emotions are not proper for his rank
The twins didn't cry at their mother's funeral, people thought they were just good at keeping it inside but really they were thinking about what they were gonna eat this night and how to redecorate her room
Dust's co-workers in his time think he either got kidnapped or is in rehab for drugs (he doesn't take drugs, they just think he does because he always looks exhausted and barely talks to them)
Killer doesn't miss his time at all, he is thriving in every period and does not care if he never goes back in his own
It has already been acknowledged in the story but I want to emphasize that Nightmare is a heavy sleeper and will sleep anywhere no matter the noise around, good luck waking him up, and if he grabs you when he sleeps you are condemned to wait for him to wake up if you want to be free (he wakes up early in his time only because of habit, but if given the chance he will sleep more)
Okay I think that's all for now ? I might come back later with a reblog if something comes to mind but for now here you go :D
You know what I wanna do in Time Travelers ? Make Nightmare and Killer be chaotic together
They are the only ones who share a language while also being the two most opposite, litteraly if you arrange the gang in a line they are at each end, Killer being the most chaotic one who steals and kills and Nightmare being the most sophisticated one with high education and rank
I want to have them bound and have Killer teach Nightmare to be silly and let go of the noble standards, I want them to be a chaotic duo at some point, like they are boyfriends, sure, but before that they are chaotic together
Horror Cross and Dust are gonna sit calmly enjoying some nice tea while Killer and Nightmare are gonna be in the background throwing each other at the ground, judging people and seeing if stuff can catch fire
Killer is gonna rewrite Nightmare's approach to life completely and it will be good for him
The TT houses are done, it's approximate because I can only do so much with ANCH but it's to have an idea of what they look like !
• Dust
You have to imagine that there are doors to go to the bathroom and bedroom cause I can't put patterns on separation walls
The entry is next to the fridge, you can see it in the second pic but in case it's not clear, and there is the bay window next to the couch too, and a window in the bedroom
As you can see it's not suited for five persons
I didn't do the backyard cause it's just a square of grass with a fence around
• Cross
Basic medieval peasant house, where does he wash you may ask ? Public baths
The pillars are to support the mezzanine that I couldn't put here so again, imagine it lol
• Nightmare
I didn't make his whole house cause it's big af so I just did the two principal rooms: his bedroom and one of the little saloons
The backdoor leads to his private bathroom
• Horror
Imagine that the wood blocks are a bit wider, and that they are the beds
Horror lives in a little burried house, but he spends most of his time in the longhouse, and I couldn't do it justice but it looks something like that
There are refs on Google anyway if you search viking longhouse if you want a better idea
• Killer
Killer is homeless so he technically doesn't have a house for me to design, but since they're most likely gonna sleep in a storage room or something
Hey!! I am here because i had a dumb/silly idea about Dust ins TravelersAU
Mostly. As we discusses. Dust eventually goes to study history in college.
And you know. You just know! It happens. his time travel shenigans come back to haunt him.
Teacher: now! We will not talk about when the first true and well known cases of overcharge came to be.
Dust taking notes.
Teacher: there are a lot of stories. But on wiht the most records and documented proof is the one in old french with the nobles there.
dust pauses... but keeps writing.
Teacher: it was said that one of the nobles was cursed and doomed by the gods... but one day someone close to the noble, there are rumours about who this person was as the only name we have is the translated word for Corpse, explained a new posibility. It explains how the soul can have a build up of pressure which can cause damage. It was explained using a kettle!
Dust going through the fice stages of grief.
Teacher: you have to understand. This was unheard of! The people were very religious and medicine was only starting to be more known and researched! This option was unheard of and not spoken abut! as at the time no one even knew yet that magic could be passed genetically! *continues talking*
Dust staring at his notes thinking: if i had known i would have gotten into history books i wouldn't have used a fucking kettle. it was there! It was there and the easiest to change the lesson plan to fit it!
that is all hahah
Ohoho hello :D
Ohhhhh him having to study the shit HE came up with lmao, if he doesn't have the highest grade he's defenestrating himself
When the teacher starts to speak and explain the subject Dust is sitting there looking suspiciously like (≖_≖ ), he knows that subject
It happens a lot, and each time he gives the papers to the boyfriend in question to see if it's accurate and they read it like they would read rumors about themselves and get offended when an information is not quite right
He does regret using a kettle lmao, he should have chosen something more professional ! It doesn't help that his boyfriends now call him Kettle-man to tease him lmaoo
Killer was born in the great Roman Empire in a very rich family !
As a slave.
His mother was a slave, and so he automatically was a slave too, and spent all of his childhood alternating between learning basic things and serving his masters, and then his teenage years just serving them
The house he was in was big with many slaves, his masters being very wealthy, even tho they lived in a rather small town
Killer's main job was cleaning, he would clean the floors as well as the laundry, clean the dishes, ... but he also served the masters directly by bringing them all sort of things the would ask for
Normally there would have been a slave per job but Killer was often punished and would have to work more
He wasn't the best slave, tending to be forgetful, slow, leaving out unclean spots, bringing back the wrong things... and so his masters would either make him work more when they were in a rather good day, or when they weren't in a good day, they would physically punish him by whiping his back, among other things
The times when he was working with the other slaves were calmer, they would chat, tell stories, the slaves who were once war prisoners would tell about their fights, he really liked listening to these stories and daydream about a different life in which he would be free
He knew some slaves could be freed, but usually these slaves were freed because they either paid a very high price, because their master died and wrote it in their will, or because they did an exceptionally great job and got rewarded, and Killer knew that it was all out of reach for him because he didn't have any money, his masters were young and healthy, and he wasn't doing a good job that would deserve a reward of any kind
He really wanted to be free thought, he wanted more than working everyday for the same persons, he wanted to travel, to discover the Empire that everyone kept saying was so great, to have a chance to chose his own way in life
He knew he wouldn't be freed anytime soon, but he also knew that if he didn't have any masters, then he technically wouldn't be a slave anymore
So he started plotting, he knew everyone's habits, he knew when and where they would be alone, what they would be doing, where the masters would be, he knew everything as he was here since his litteral birth
He would have to kill the masters, but he couldn't risk leaving witnesses so he would have to kill the slaves following them around, and since he didn't want the other slaves to tell everyone it was him, as he would be the only one missing since he planned to run away, that meant he would just have to kill everyone in the household, to make sure no one could ever know it was him who did it
It did sadden him a little to have to kill the slaves he worked with, he liked them, but his desire to be free was stronger and so he didn't hesitate when he stabbed them too
Once he made sure that no one was still breathing he waited for the night and ran away from the town with only a bag and his knife, going as far as he could, to make sure no one would catch him, and luckily his appearance changed when he started killing so he didn't look too much like himself anymore with the black liquid dripping from his sockets and his target shaped soul
Since that moment he started going from city to city, stealing food, clothes and all sort of things he could sell and make money from
He never stayed too long in one city and changed his name to a new one each time he moved, he picked Killer on the spot when Dust asked what his name was, and it ended up sticking with him
About the trauma now:
He has pretty bad scars on his back that he tends to hide, not wanting anyone to connect the dots and recognize it as punishment marks, and the scars are so big that he actually doesn't have that much sensation left on his back, he would feel it if you slap him but not if you caress the scars and due to this lack of sensations he absolutely hates it when someone touches his back, it makes him feel vulnerable and is part of why he always sleeps against a wall to make sure his back isn't exposed
He also hates receiving orders for a very obvious reason and he hates that his first instinct upon receiving orders is moving to do it, he has to stop himself from following the orders and he hates it, he hates how his training hasn't left him (the fact he doesn't understand any of what the gang says is good in a way because even if they do give him orders he just doesn't understand so he doesn't move, but he has the feeling that they don't give him orders anyways)
He's also very observant and notices small details about people due to him always analyzing his masters to see if they were in a good mood or not, he doesn't say anything tho, he just stares and sometimes smiles
Not long after settling into his new room above William’s shop, Teodoro came to find out the man had hired him, not for any skill of Teodoro’s, but at the insistence of Elizabeth. Apparently he owed her a large enough favor to warrant taking in a child. Teodoro would learn more about the pair’s history later on, but in that moment, the discovery that he was essentially of no use was quite distressing. Snubbed by every childless family seeking a young one from the orphanage, and now unwanted in his own workplace, Teodoro took that personally and set out to make himself useful, regardless of what William wanted. Unfortunately, before he was taught anything pertinent to the bookstore, Teodoro was used by the other employees as both a maid and a gofer. The good news was it lent him ample time to sit and read. And when not doing those, he spent a fair amount of time in the basement, pestering those working on custom bookbindings.
When the Algerian Coffee Stores opened down the street a year later, his scant few duties increased to include retrieving MULTIPLE orders of tea and coffee daily. Because of this and his cordiality toward the owner, with fair amount of trial and error, he learns to order in perfect Arabic.
Eventually, sick of the heeldragging on William’s part, Teodoro starts throwing threats:
“You'd better teach me something useful soon, because I think Mr. Siari means to offer me work at better pay.”
“Teodoro, you're not Algerian. That's a family business.”
“Tell that to the half of his regulars that think I'm his nephew. White Londoners can’t tell the difference and business booms on cute.”
“This is incredibly mouthy, even for you. I— ...Teodoro, are you trembling?”
“It's the coffee, Bill.”
“Oh, for hell’s sake…”
Exhausted by the badgering, William relents, and Teodoro learns (formally) how to bookbind by both hand and machine. With all his time spent watching and committing orderly details to memory, he catches on quickly. By the time he turns fifteen, there’s not a task in all the store he hasn’t learned.
Because of this history, Teodoro is holding that relationship with Mr. Siari in his back pocket. If someone in another house crosses him to the point of genuine anger, he's prepared to coke up all of Ravenclaw on that coffee on a day they share a class with that individual. Very much a nuclear option when someone has enough caffeine to override the group ADHD and send them into madness.
Cross him and he’ll be releasing a gibbering Everett Clopton like a fucking velociraptor onto the school grounds. Try him.
