          desperation had easily become a part of jay’s life.           his friends were gone and loneliness has seeped           through the cracks whenever he wasn’t around           anyone. after all those months of searching, he’d           finally decided to call it quits. jessica was involved           now. he wouldn’t allow her to get hurt because           of things that didn’t involve her in the slightest. now,           he needed to make sure that she was safe, even           if alex was still trying to hunt down the people that           were tied to that . . thing. 

                                                      ‘ jessica. ’ 

           the name fell from his lips with ease, looking at her            in the passenger’s side. 

                                ‘ are you sure about this? ’

         they were leaving their life behind, for better or for worse.

  He comes to in the dark. The first thing he feels is panic. He can’t remember how long he’s been gone. How long he wasn’t himself. But like always, the memories start to set in like an intrusion in his mind. All the blood spilled and it’s all on his hands. He just wants this to end. He wants it to be over. He feels so sick and he can’t get his head straight. Where is he? Why is he here? It’s clearly somebody’s home. It’s clearly being lived in. Or it was, recently. Evan jumped to his feet. Oh god, he didn’t kill the owner, right? 

  “Hey... Anybody home?”

HIS HAND SLAMS ON the counter he was previously leaning on. he didn’t want her judgement, or pity, or whatever BULLSHIT emotion she was trying to trick herself into having for him. he knows what he’s doing. uneven breaths spill from his mouth as he grabs the glass nearest to him and throws it at the wall behind him.     “ do what? hm? don’t you ever pay ATTENTION when i talk. NOTHING IS A CHOICE, jessica! ” adam stumbles backwards running the back of his hand over his mouth, chuckling, “ we’re all pre-programmed. and we can find some way to DELAY our fate, but everything will happen eventually. there’s no point delaying this, i don’t deserve your concern. ”
