Marley
It was game day, and Marley was beyond ready for this. Sebastian (and Jake for that matter of a fact) have been giving her a hard time for beating them, and this was it. Her time to shine. Marley had her gaming system set up while she waited for Sebastian to arrive, and in all honesty this has been an interesting weekend. She and Brody did had the spaghetti social , so she was as happy as a clam. All she had to do was kick Sebastian's ass, and she was set.
It was still a school night, so Marley decided to relax. Wearing her pj's and slippers, she had snacks set out for them, and when Sebastian finally arrived, she was ready to go.
“Took you long enough.” She chided. “Ready for me to pwn you.. Again?”
Sebastian
Sebastian was determined to prove himself. The last time he’d played video games with Marley, she had won – and Sebastian wasn’t okay with it. He never lost. As much as he adored Marley, he wasn’t willing to let that shit stand.
It had taken him a little while to get to Marley’s, and he had to pick up the pizza first, but by the time he arrived at her house, she was all set up.
“Pwn? For real?” He wrinkled his nose, settling the pizza down on the coffee table. “You’re gonna get your ass kicked, Rosie. I went easy on you last time.”
Marley
Marley knew he was butthurt over losing to her. She can understand that, but for once, and for all he was going to admit she was better than him, and he will accept it. Even if she had to force him to, or something.
“Yes, pwn. My kids use it. Does it not work for this situation?” She asked, wrinkling her nose. That was the right word, right? Bouncing over to the pizza, Marley grabbed a slice, and sat down on her couch, pulling her legs to her chest.
Her thing with Sebastian always amused her. She had no problem walking around in her PJs braless with him around. Grabbing her controller, she picked her player, Bowser, and grinned. “I’m getting started! Pick your character, before I do it for you!”
Sebastian
Snorting in amusement, Sebastian grabbed his own slice of the pizza and crashed down on the couch next to Marley. “Yeah, they use it. I just wasn’t expecting you to use it, dork.”
Huffing when Marley made her character selection, Sebastian made a grab for his own controller. “You took my character. Give him back!” He was fairly certain that she’d picked Bowser just to fuck with him, and he wasn’t happy about it.
Marley
“You talk to me like I'm old. I don't appreciate that.” Sticking her tongue out at him, Marley took another bite of her pizza. She wasn't old, right?
“I did not!” She exclaimed, rolling her eyes. “You don't own him, I like Bowser!” She proclaimed picking out her car. “At least I didn't make you peach!”
“Shut up, oldie.” She chided, curling her legs under her body, and leaning forward. She was kind of glad they were relaxing. After finding out Derek was in town, Marley did her best to avoid it, but she had been on edge. Now she was more relaxed.
“Oh please, you would not. What about Daisy?” She asked innocently. It always bothered her that the girl players were so weak. “You aren’t though! Good luck trying!” She set up the game, and grinned excitedly. “Ready???””
Sebastian
Sebastian rolled his eyes. “I’m not that old. Still in my prime, Marls.” It felt good to just chill out after the stressful few days they’d been having. Both of them definitely needed this.
“Yeah, I’ll pick Daisy when she’s capable of winning a match,” he grumbled. Not that he was all too happy about Donkey Kong. He clutched onto the controller, narrowing his focus on the game, determined to beat her this time. “Bring it.”
Marley
“You’re almost thirty.” She reminded him with a sweet smile. “So you are almost out of your prime. I have six more years.” She preened, sticking her tongue out at him playfully.
“She might win.. Though I doubt it.” She said in a sing-song voice, leaning forward as the game began to start. “Oh it’s brought on.” Marley chided leaning forward as the game started, going with the motion of the game, her body swaying in the direction of her character.
Sebastian
“Thanks for the reminder,” Sebastian huffed, sending her a non-heated glare. “But I’ll have you know, this ass will be well sought after even when I’m far into my thirties.” He blew her a raspberry in return, well aware of how childish he looked while doing it.
“She never wins.” No matter how skilled the player is, she’d be destined to lose. Sebastian really wasn’t willing to take the chance. His pride was at stake, here. His eyebrows furrowed, he leaned forward in deep concentration, managing to just bypass Marley by an inch. “Did I mention I was planning on ordering some expensive wine when I win?"
Marley
“Oh whatever. That last until you start going senile.” Marley stuck her tongue back out at him. They were bad. They really are,
“I know. I learned that the hard way.” She agreed. The game begun, and Sebastian got ahead of her. Shouting, she leaned towards him and edged her character further, getting in the lead and dropping some blue turtle shells which hit him. “Ha!!” She shouted. “You mean when I win!!”
Sebastian
"I'll worry about that when I'm old and grey," Sebastian replied with a smirk. "Or, more realistically, you will, since you're the one who's gonna have to deal with it."
Sebastian let out a growl as he narrowly avoided skidding off the edge of the hellish road, watching Marley overtake him. He licked his lips, pressing down harder on the button as if it was going to make him drive faster. He ran over a power up. Banana peel. "Oh, come on!" What good was that when Marley was ahead of him? Predictably, as he threw it, one of the CPU characters ran over it and went skidding off the road. "Don't think you'll stay ahead for long."
Marley
“How will you be my problem? I'll just put you in a nursing home.” She teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
Marley leaped as she got in the lead, egging her character on, because she wanted to keep the lead. “Ha!” She shouted as she hit her second lap. “Ha ha!”
Sebastian
"You'd never do that to me, Rosie," Sebastian replied with a chuckle. "You love me way too much. Besides, what would life be without me? You'd be bored."
Shit, he couldn’t let her win. They had a bet - and he had fully intended on winning it. He crossed over the line into his second lap in third place, narrowly managing to take over Daisy (ironically enough) in second and his lips twitched into a smirk when he ended up collecting a blue shell, making sure to fire it straight away so that it gave him the opportunity to take over Marley.
Marley
“I would though.” She commented with a giggle. “I mean I'd still visit you.” She reminded him, nudging his hips.
She was in the lead, and she leaned to the side, squealing when she was hit with a shell, and got in third place. “Hey!” She shrieked, knocking his arm as she gained forward. “I'll catch up!”
Sebastian
"Throw me in the retirement home and you'd be denied visitation," he teased, shifting his hips just out of her reach.
He cackled as he sped on ahead, full concentration on the game now. Rainbow Road was always hellish in general, but with how competitive he and Marley were, he couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. “You can try.”
Marley
“Please! I'm all you have!” Marley exclaimed giggling. She mused, licking her lips.
She hit rainbow road and made her way, knocking Daisy out of her way and gaining speed on Seb. Marley leaned forward as she took the lead. “Boom!”
Sebastian
“I can find a new best friend in the nursing home – someone old and senile like me. Plus, I’d probably have something going on with some of the nursing staff. I’m sure even in my old age, I’ll be able to keep my charm,” he teased.
He swore under his breath when Marley took over him again, knocking into her arm and trying to nudge his way into distracting her from the game, but his desperate bid to take over again had him flying off the track. “Fuck!” he growled loudly, gritting his teeth as he waited for the fucking ghost to place him back on the damn road again.
Marley
“But they won’t love you like I do.” Marley said seriously, blowing him a kiss. “Oh I am sure of it. I’d be fucking the nurses AND the doctors.” She laughed, because the mere image of it was more than she could handle.
But, she was in the lead now, and Marley swatted his hand away with her elbow, jumping up as she took a pretty far lead. “HA!” She shrieked, heading on her final lap. “SUCKS TO BE YOU!”
Sebastian
"What can I say? It's a gift. They'll all be under my thumb," Sebastian replied with a chuckle.
Growling as Marley raced ahead of him, he leaned closer to the TV, trying to will his car into going faster. "This isn't over, Rosie." Strong words, considering that Marley was pretty far ahead of him and Sebastian wasn't even second place anymore. He really did hate this fucking level.
Marley
“You're going to be such a pervy old man.” She commented, shaking her head. She really wouldn't put it past him.
She was in the lead, and practically bouncing in her seat as she got closer to the finish line. She finally passed, and she squealed. “Strong words my ass!” She exclaimed, crackling.
Sebastian
“Hey, they’ll all be chasing after me. I’ll still be hot. I’m sure I’d rock the silver fox look.” He was constantly getting told that he was young looking for his age, after all.
Sebastian was making a good attempt at catching up, but Marley beat him across the finish line and he growled, throwing his controller onto the couch beside them with a glare. “You cheated!” He wasn’t sure how, but he was fairly certain Marley had rigged the game. He didn’t lose. “Best two out of three!”
Marley
Marley giggled as he spoke of his nursing home adventures, and she believed that is exactly how it would turn out.
Marley was prancing when he threw his controller. “How did I cheat?! You were right there!” She reminded him, shaking her head. “Those weren't the terms. I won and you're a sore losers.”
Sebastian
Sebastian folded his arms across his chest. “I’m not a sore loser. You definitely cheated.” He wasn’t sure how, exactly, but there was no way that Marley was better than him at Mario Kart. “And the controller wasn’t working properly!”
Still, they had a deal. He sighed, scowling. “Fine. Dinner and drinks on me. Cheater. Next time I bring my own controller.”
Marley
Marley rolled her eyes. “It works fine! Gosh stop pouting.” She giggled, leaning into him, and kissing him on the cheek. “It works fine. I gave you the new one!”
Still, he gave in, and she grinned. “Awesome. We can play again when we get back?” She offered, grabbing her coat, and tugging him up.
Sebastian
“Well, your new one’s clearly faulty,” he grumbled, but he didn’t lean away from the evident attempt to butter him up.
He rolled his eyes, but let Marley tug him off the couch anyway. “You gonna be able to eat a full meal after having some of that pizza, Marls?” he tried. “You sure you don’t want to work up an appetite by having a rematch right now?”
Marley
“You said you'd accept the results.” She reminded him, kissing his cheek again. “Come on. We had fun, and I kicked your ass.” She grinned at him.
“Um, I had two pieces of pizza. Of course I can eat more. Come on.” She tugged at his arm, and grinned. “Though you can rub my feet first.”
Sebastian
“By cheating, yeah,” he muttered, and he was not pouting, thank you very much.
Well, it was worth a try. He groaned in frustration when she mentioned the foot massage, having forgotten about that particular part of the bargain. “You can have your foot rub after.”
Marley
“I didn't cheat, but okay. You're lucky you look cute when you pout.” She commented, Grinning.
Leaning back on her couch, she wiggled her toes. “Why not now?” She pouted, leaning forward.”Then get ready so we can go out.”
Sebastian
“I don’t pout,” Sebastian retorted immediately. “And I never look cute. The word you’re looking for is hot.”
He groaned in frustration, but sat back down on the couch anyway. “Look who’s pouting now. Gimme your foot and let’s get this over with, then.”
Marley
“Yeah you do. You're pouting now.” Marley pointed out, laughing. “Nah when you're acting like this it's cute, in the annoying way.”
She crossed her arms, and rolled her eyes. “Fine.” She put her feet in his lap, and wiggled her toes. “Do it with meaning.”
Sebastian
“You’re imagining things!” Sebastian argued, but he was a having a hard time fighting off the laugh at the ridiculousness between the two of them. “Still hot, but whatever.”
He huffed. “When have you ever known me to half ass anything?” He snatched the pillow from behind him and sat it on his lap, propping her foot on it, sliding his palm under the heel and rotating it gently to warm up the muscles.
Marley
“I am not! There is is again!” Marley shrieked, giggling. He was being ridiculous, and he seemed to know it. “Childish.”
He grabbed her pillow, and propped it on his lap, and as he rubbed her feet, she groaned. “Oooohhhh.” She moaned, closing her eyes and flexing her feet. “That feels amazing!”
Sebastian
He scowled. “What’s childish is not playing fair at games and giving me a faulty controller.” Now that he’d found that excuse, he was latching to it and there was nothing that Marley could do about it.
With a smirk, he rubbed his thumbs in gentle circles around the arch. “Careful, Marls - can’t have you getting too relaxed. Unless you want to skip dinner and call this foot rub your prize.”
Marley
“I didn’t give you a faulty controller, you idiot.” Marley hit him with a pillow playfully, and shook her head. “You just can’t accept our terms of defeat.” Which was pretty much the most Sebastian thing to do in all honesty.
Still, he was really good at rubbing her feet. Sighing, she shook her her head. “I am not.” She said happily, leaning back and closing her eyes. “Nope. You owe me dinner still.”
Sebastian
"Yeah, you did - ow!" he yelped, his hands coming up to stop the pillow from hurting him. "That's just rude, Rosie."
Moving his thumbs up and continuing to rotate them, he worked on the mounds below her toes. "You sure about that?" he chuckled, enjoying finally being back in his element. He might have lost at the game - thanks to Marley's cheating, obviously - but he knew that he was good with his hands.
Marley
“You keep telling me I’m cheating!” Marley exclaimed, putting the pillow down, and kissing his cheek. “It is not. I do it out of love.”
Marley was kind of having the time of her life right now. Closing her eyes, she hummed slightly, because this felt so good, he was really good at this. “I’m sure.” She said flexing her feet, and moaning again. “Right there.”
Sebastian
He rolled his eyes but didn’t bother retorting lest they go around in circles. No matter what Marley tried to tell him, he knew the truth of it.
Huffing, he followed her instructions, running his thumbs over the inner arch and increasing the pressure, his concentration locked on making it feel as good for her as he could. Once he was done with that foot, he patted the pillow. “Other foot. Can’t have you walking all lopsided, as hilarious as it would be.”
Marley
Marley knew he was a sore loser, but she didn’t care. It was nice having something to one up him with.
Still, he rubbed her foot, and it felt amazing, like in the she may die type of way, when he asked for her other foot. “Thank you, love.” She said happily, putting her other foot in his lap, and sighing. “You’re really good at that.”
Sebastian
"I know I am," Sebastian replied, but his lips twitched at the praise, anyway - because he wasn't exactly tired of hearing it.
He got started on the other foot in the same manner, thumbs running up her pressure points and following the noises that she was making - because god damn, Marley made a lot of noise, and Sebastian should not be wondering how loud his best friend was in bed, because that was just fucking weird. Nope, different topic. “How exactly did you manage to convince me that a footrub needed to be added to this deal again?”
Marley
“Stop being so cocky!” Marley exclaimed, nudging him with her foot. He continued rubbing her feet, and it felt really good. Her eyes were closed and she felt so content.
“I don't know, but I'm glad I did.” Wiggling her toes. She sat up. “ Hungry. How about we head out for a bite to eat and some drinks?”
Sebastian
"Why change the habit of a lifetime?" Sebastian shot back with a grin.
Maybe Marley would take mercy on him and choose somewhere that wasn't going to break the bank. Then again, it's not what Sebastian would've done, and he highly doubted that Marley was done milking this.
Marley
“Because it isn’t becoming.” She teased, though for some reason, Sebastian was able to pull it. She sat there for a moment, deciding on where they are eating. “Breadstix, you’re buying me an expensive bottle of wine, and then we are heading out, and having fun.” She wasn’t going to let Derek ruin her night.
Sebastian
“Works for me,” he shrugged, shooting her a grin. He huffed, pulling on his jacket. “Yeah, yeah. Rub it in.” Really, though, he was just happy to be able to go out and let loose after Derek’s text. They both needed something to take their minds off of it.
Marley
“Great!” Marley exclaimed, leading Sebastian to his car. They had a really awesome dinner. They talked, and joked around, and finally headed to RiverStix where they drank, and got a little bit tipsy. Marley was dancing with Sebastian, when she hard someone clear their throat.
Turning around, Marley saw Derek, and she paled. While she knew he was in town, the fact that she ran into him scared the crap out of her. “Miss me, doll?” He asked, and Marley gripped Sebastian’s arm. “Should have known you’d waltz in and steal her.” He mused, taking a step towards her.
“You need to leave.” She said calmly, holding onto Sebastian’s arm.
