WAIT SO I JUST WATCHED THE EPISODE FROM SEASON TWO (Mirror, Mirror) WITH THE MIRROR PEOPLE AND THE AMAZING “This Shorty knocked me down! I once saw Shorty lose a fight! To a trout! On dry land!!” QUOTE BUT THAT WAS THE MIRROR!EUGENE!! DOES THAT MEAN THAT STORY WAS MADE UP??

Any Varian headcanons for season three?

Besides the fact that we’ll finally be seeing him again, and it will be for real this time? 😂

I don’t really have too many hard-and-fast theories as far as how it’s going to happen or what he’s been up to since the day they left. The writers have been keeping it very tight-lipped so far, so it’s difficult to make any assumptions.

I do still firmly believe that: A.) he’s going to be an antagonist the next time we see himB.) he’ll have another plan to take down both Rapunzel & Corona (whether by himself or in tandem with another villain/group of antagonists)C.) he and Rapunzel are eventually going to end up on the same side in a fight against a greater threat (possibly Zhan Tiri???)

But aside from that, all the rest is still pretty much just up in the air right now and I don’t want to get myself set on any particular possibilities just yet. However, there are a few things that I could/would like to see confirmed before the series is over:

Varian is descended from Demanitus - I’m not sure exactly how likely this one is, seeing as we have no proof that Demanitus even had any children while he was alive. But it would make a lot of sense, considering all the parallels we’ve seen between the two.

Varian and Cass both have Dark Kingdom roots - this is already confirmed for Varian, but I’ve always felt like he and Cass stand out from the other Coronans in a way that makes it seem like they don’t quite belong there. Plus, this would explain why these two characters gravitated towards each other so easily, out of everyone in the show.

Varian’s alchemy will end up saving Corona/his dad - this would be in addition to Rapunzel’s sun/moon magic, as foreshadowed by Xavier’s tale in QFAD. I feel like Varian is due for 1 successful outcome to one of his experiments, and I believe it’s going to be the one that ultimately helps Rapunzel turn the tides of the final battle in their favor.

Varian will not stay in Corona when it’s over - I don’t want to go into detail too much with this one just yet, but; although I do believe Varian and Rapunzel will eventually make amends, I don’t think his history with Corona and with Frederic will be so easily resolved.

The Cassandrium will make another appearance - this one is pretty self-explanatory. I think there’s more to the necklace than meets the eye. And I have a hard time believing that Cass would just throw it out, so I do think she still has it. Not sure how, but I feel like this element may turn out to be relevant to the story in some way.

Jeremy will have/be in another song - this might just be wishful thinking (lol), but how could you have Jeremy Jordan involved in a vocal project and not get him to sing every chance he gets?? I also believe this because A.) Varian will be in more tentpole episodes in the final season and B.) I think Varian’s story is being outlined in song, with LMMYP being the start and RAIEB being the first turning point. As his arc comes to a close, I believe there will be more songs to accompany it.

That’s about all I’ve got for now. But who knows? Maybe the next episode will answer some of the questions we have regarding Varian and all of this will be completely changed.

Tangled Destinies Collide Episode Discussion/Breakdown

I haven't done an episode breakdown in awhile let alone an hour long season finale but these are just my thoughts on the episode along with some theories and obviously spoilers.

Okay so I was kinda right when I said the warning from Demanitus was a red herring. I knew that Eugene was going to betray Rapunzel in someway that was beyond his control thus the title "Destinies Collide" but I really really did not expect that ending. 

I really enjoyed Eugene this episode, Zachary Levi was amazing during his solo and Eugene laughing off his problems is a mood. 

We also got the return of Adira! and we got to see how important her sword is! Edmund even said it can destroy the Moonstone so how did Adira get it in the first place??? I hope we see more of Adira and how she obtained her sword in s3. 

So... Prince! Eugene... I'm definitely fine with the idea now. I wonder if King Edmund is gonna become a part of the party and Eugene will ever see him as his father or will resent him for sending him away. The "you can't call me son" scene shows there's still obvious tension there. 

What I was worried about making Eugene a Prince is that he'd feel the struggle to be different because of his new found birthright and Rapunzel wouldn't like that and it would lead to a breakup. I should have more faith in the writers because they handled the reveal amazingly. 

Instead of feeling the struggle to be someone different because of finding out about his birthright Eugene finds his birth father and a kingdom someone equally as broken as him and an obligation to save it and protect Rapunzel. 

As much as I love the Moon! Varian theory/headcanon and I'll continue to love it the writers have other plans and I love what they've cooked up. I can't wait for s3. (would have loved for Varian to be name dropped once...) 

I feel really good about this finale oh but also; 

THAT ENDING...
