okey okey okey okey ... this was born with the simple idea of how to incorporate Axl into the Zero saga as a "what would happen"; but for some reason the idea that Axl had supplanted X originally made me more striking than the already spent "hey, he had also been put into hibernation at the same time as Zero and was awakened at the same time as Zero" that I've seen in various fics and stories [I'm not saying they're bad stories or bad jobs; in fact I love many of these who inspired me to make my own version].
