Tuáth Dé
Common Name: Elves, Guardian Angels
Guardian Domain: Humanity, Human Realm
Sacred Metal: Copper
Realm of Origin: Noreia
Overview
The Tuath Dé were shaped to be near enough to humans to be trusted, and strong enough to protect them when trust fails. Among the seven guardian races, they are the closest to humankind. They work extensively and exclusively with them, as humanity is their soul charge. They frequently travel between the human realm and the gaurdian realm as often as a commute to work.
Physical Appearance
Tuath Dé are intentionally humanlike.
Build: Tall, broad, and sturdy; often husky or powerfully built
Height: Generally taller than humans across the board
Hair: Always curly; always within the ginger–auburn–red spectrum
Skin: Peachy, warm-toned, and quick to flush
Eyes: Green or blue only; bright and expressive
Freckles: Abundant and unmistakable, scattered across face, shoulders, arms, and body
The Comfort Effect
The Tuath Dé possess an innate presence that puts others at ease. Humans feel safer around them, even when humans are unaware of their existence or presence. Children and animals are more perceptive of their influence.
Temperament
Tuath Dé are:
Warm
Friendly
Emotionally open
Welcoming
Humor-forward
They are quick to laugh, quick to offer food or shelter, and slow to anger.
But when that anger arrives, it is decisive and frightening.
Culture
Tuath Dé society is built around clan and hearth.
Tight-knit family groups form the core of their culture
Loyalty is communal rather than hierarchical
Children are raised collectively
Elders are storytellers, not rulers
They are broadly laissez-faire in daily life—relaxed, indulgent, forgiving—but unyielding when it comes to protecting the vulnerable.
Hospitality is sacred.
Cruelty toward the weak is unforgivable.
Abilities
As guardians of humanity, their gifts are relational rather than cosmic.
Common abilities include:
Emotional resonance and influence
Protective warding
Their power is strongest when used in service of others, not themselves.
Relationship to Humanity
The Tuath Dé do not merely defend humans—they like them. They celebrate human creativity, resilience, foolishness, and hope.
They believe humanity’s strength lies not in power, but in connection.
Role in the Serpent Calling
They stand as proof that guardianship does not require distance, fear, or domination—only presence, courage, and love freely given. They show the value in free will and wild abandon.
