I love my section this year. <3
We got 4 freshman, so we’re up to 9 players now, including myself.
Yesterday was our second football game, and our first 8 pm game.
We were all pumped. The later games are always so much more fun.
Traditionally, we give all the the freshman their “food names” on the bus, on the way to the first football game (which we did last week.)
That’s part one of our initiation.
The second part happened yesterday.
The second part of our initiation consists of going to my house, (since it’s right down the street from the school) meeting my psycho dog, Oscar, cooking a shit ton of food, and just hanging out and watching tv or whatever until we need to head back to the school.
First off, right when school got out, we held sectionals to work on the actual music part of playing tuba.
So I was with 8 other guys for about 10 hours straight yesterday.
Holy crap, is it difficult being the only girl in this section.
These are the things I’ve learned while being a girl tuba player the past 5 years;
1. Guys are slobs, and it’s even worse when they’re all tuba players.
2. No matter how platonic your relationship is with a male tuba player, he will still hit on you and try to touch your butt. Just be stealthy.
3. Know how to cook, or you will not have any food to yourself.
4. Have a good sense of humor. Otherwise, you’ll be the bitch of the section.
5. You will be the most picked on in the section. It is inevitable. Dish it right back!
6. Stand your ground. Just because your a girl does not mean the underclassmen can boss you around. Keep them in check.
Once you’ve got those basics down, you’re gold.
So after sectionals, we went to Albertson’s down the street to get some food to eat.
We got 1 pizza, a bag of pizza rolls, 5 banquet microwave meals, ice cream, 6 raspberry filled donuts, 12-pack of coca-cola, orange kool-aid, and two of those big ramen cups.
I knew that wasn’t going to be enough food.
I cooked the pizza and pizza rolls and within 30 seconds it was all gone.
I cooked myself one of those ramen cups, and made kool-aid.
Other than that, everyone else fended for themselves.
Luckily I’m smart and cleaned up as I went, otherwise my house would’ve been trashed.
After we ate, we still had about an hour or so until we needed to leave the house and make it back to the school on time.
One of the freshman, Victor, slopped pizza roll all over his white shirt, so I offered to wash it with a load of my clothes. So I gave him one of my Winds Of Plague shirts. Oh lordy, was that a sight to see! Then he decided he wanted to wear one of my bras, so I found one that I don’t really like to wear, stuffed it with my socks, and he walked around with pretty realistic looking boobs until we left the house.
I should have taken a picture, it would’ve been good for blackmail. >:3
Then, Dominic, another freshman, decided he wanted to wear my LMFAO yellow zebra shorts to the game.
By the time we left my house, Riley was wearing my socks, Dominic had my shorts, Victor had my shirt and I think Alex had my tutu.
All in all, I had a damn good day bonding with my section.
And this was just the first adventure.
