Sometimes your watercolor tubes get sticky and well, gross. This morning I rinsed them off and cleaned out their container. My students often ask about what colors to add after the beginning classes with a limited palette. These are the colors I use. Some, like the gray and greens, I haven’t used in years. I generally mix my colors from different combinations of primary colors. I only use a few colors at a time, depending on what I’m painting. I work with a saucer sized white ceramic plate for my mixing palette.
