For the OC Plant game, is it okay to put every flower emojis in an ask? Because I'm pretty curious about your characters now x)
Yes of course! To save you having to send another ask ;) Under the cut
💐 What flowers would be used in a flower crown for your oc? Why those choices?Ivory, being as extra as she is, would do white roses and orchids. They make a statement that she’s important.Ebony would probably do those unnaturally coloured daisies. The blue and green kind because they don’t show up in nature and they’re quirky enough to be fun but not so out there or pretentious that people stare or ask questions.Tuck would be marigolds. He’s a ball of sunshine and they go well with his hair.Jenny would be lilacs because her favourite colour is purple and they smell nice.Arthur would be honey suckle and violets, both edible and sweet. And Robyn would be daffodils and a single centered violet, for the gay.
🌷 Does your oc have any collections? What of? Any reason why?Answered here
🌱 What are some of your oc’s dreams? Goals?Answered here
🌳 What are some things your oc is proud of?Tuck is so proud of everything Jenny sets out to do and accomplishes. Every bit of effort, no matter how small she thinks it is, he is so proud of her for. And he would never admit it but he’s proud of Ivory’s abilities as a mechanic and would concede his claim on the shop if his father did decide to name her his successor.
🌾 What is your oc’s favourite food?Ebony and Arthur both love Ivory’s dulce de leche cake. It was a recipe she found in an old cookbook from their grandmother on their mom’s side.
🍀 Who has the best luck of your ocs? The worst? If the plot of the story says anything about it, Jenny has the worst luck. I’d say either Arthur or Robyn is the luckiest.
🍃 Who of your ocs would love to travel? Who has traveled the most/farthest?Tuck would like to see the world, but only with Jenny at his side. I think some of my villains have traveled the furthest from the location the story is set in seeing as they are foreigners (Azure, Trixie)
🌸 Who is the most innocent of your ocs? The most guilty? Most innocent would probably be Tuck. The sweetest cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure. Most guilty would be a toss up between Ebone and Robyn, especially since they feel guilty about the things they’ve done. I mean, also the villains are all pretty guilty...but that’s obvious.
💮 What are your oc’s best skills?Pre-series Ivory’s is mechanical work. Both twins can sew. Tuck and Jenny both love cooking with Tuck’s mom. Arthur is good with computers and electronics. Robyn would probably make a good librarian with how well she can remember the plot of a book. Leah’s photography has been featured in magazines.
🏵 Has your oc won any awards or other form of recognition? What for? Do they deserve one if not?As I just said, Leah has had her photography published in magazines. Jenny gets a lot of recognition for her activism but also because she’s the mayor’s daughter, she doesn’t feel she deserves either. Julie also gets recognition for her activism, though not nearly as much as Jenny nor nearly enough.
🌹 How is your oc with flirting? Either receiving or the source?Jenny is aromantic and it kind of makes her uncomfortable to be flirted with. Every once in a while she’ll get a really good pick up line in on Tuck and completely fluster him. Tuck doesn’t really like to flirt but becomes a blushy mess if someone flirts with him.
🥀 Have your oc’s dreams ever been crushed, or their heart broken? When and how?Major spoilers but Ivory gets this in book five. Like this is the whole plot of book five is just “let’s crush Ivory’s hopes, dreams, and heart”.
🌺 What is your oc’s formal wear like?I actually describe it in the second scene of the first book. Jenny has a toga style dress in mint green. Tuck has a black suit with blue accents. Ebony has a floor length strapless midnight dress. And Ivory’s is knee length in a cream with a sheer false neckline in gold.
🌻 What little things make your oc happy? Would they admit that they make them happy?Answered here
🌲 Which of your ocs likes the cold the best? Who can handle it the best?Ebony loves the cold, especially the cold when the sun is behind the clouds. And she knows how to dress for the weather. Tuck probably handles it the best, being big and soft he’s like a walking furnace.
🌴 If your oc could go on vacation to anywhere they’d like, where would it be?France. The first villain (Azure) was from France and [Spoilers] Told stories of how they met there [Spoilers]
🌵 Who’s the prickliest of your characters? The softest?Ebony is so prickly. She’s very cynical and tends to say things instinctively before realizing how they could sound. And Tuck is the softest. He has a reputation for being the nicest guy around. If someone needs help they know that they can ask Tuck and if he can’t solve it himself he won’t leave you until you’ve found someone who can.
🌿 Which oc can handle the most spice? Which prefers the blandest foods?Being Latina, Ebony and Ivory can handle their spice. Robyn probably has the whitest taste buds of the group.
🍁 Who is the most polite of your ocs? The rudest?Robyn is the most polite. It’s a fear thing. Ebony probably comes across as the rudest at first, since she snaps at people without thinking, but she does get better as character growth.
🍂 What is your oc’s favourite colour?Ebony loves blue. Ivory it’s yellow. Jenny’s is purple. Robyn’s is green. Arthur is orange. Tuck is also yellow. Leah is also orange. Julie is pink.
Now that I’ve done all of these for Parallel Sparks, if I get any more I’ll do them for Apocalypse Charm.
This tag game got me thinking and so I wanted to write this scene. It’s not canon, since it’s very existences contradicts the ending of the series. But I wanted to write it as like a what could have been. It’s spoiler free too.
Tuck had thought that high school elections were stressful. He had no way of being prepared for the real thing. But, of course, Jenny’s ambitions took hold. He admired that about her, that she saw challenge as opportunity. And really, he thought, who better to run against Lorraine than her own daughter.
“Getting hungry,” Jenny called. It wasn’t a question or a statement but a cross between the two. Both asking him and informing of her own feelings.
Tuck looked over the railing. They had secured a one bedroom loft. Tuck had never imagined himself moving out of his parent’s house, what with the garage being his likely career path. Down below, spread out on the floor, he saw Jenny staring up patiently.
He cracked a smile. “I’ll be right down,” he said no louder than necessary. As he took the stairs two at a time, he said, “any suggestions.”
Jenny turned her head back to the papers around her. “Not takeout,” she said. She shuffled papers around, lifting and letting fall the same corners as though they would reveal new information.
Tuck rounded the kitchen counter and began digging through the fridge. “Are you feeling soup? Fish? I need some suggestions or this is going to be a while,” he said.
“Chicken, maybe,” Jenny offered halfheartedly. “We don’t really have the venting to cook fish.” She mumbled something further that he couldn’t quite hear, something about polls he was sure. “Oh.”
He looked over, her head still ducked as she squinted at numbers and names. A smirk twisted his lips and he began turning his attention back to the fridge.
“We should probably go look at rings,” Jenny said.
Tuck’s hand slipped from the fridge door and it swung shut. “Repeat that, please,” he stuttered out. He wheeled around fully to watch her back.
Jenny looked up, not back at him, momentarily as though she didn’t realize she had spoken aloud. “Rings,” she said, “since we’re engaged.”
“Since when are we engaged?” Tuck tilted his head like a puppy, rounding back the island and coming to stand behind Jenny.
Jenny titled her head all the way back to stare up at him. “Oh, I just decided,” she said.
