Pink Tiger Rug 💖

Last year I had Pink Pony Club stuck in my head on repeat, but instead of the original lyrics my brain kept singing “pink tiger rug”. I took that as a sign I needed to make one 🙃

I ordered SO MUCH Bendigo Woollen Mills Aussie merino. Completely overshot the amount of wool I needed, which is why I now have so many pink tufted projects (and many more into the future!)

Shameless crafting post because I know a lot of us are artsy-farts here ~

I finished my first needle-punch rug ~ I wanted it to look like an ancient Greek mosaic and I’m very happy with it (even though the turtle’s not centered LOL). I just need to sew a protective backing, non-slip netting, and “finish” the edges.

But because my frame is originally for paintings, it has a support beam (you can see it at the top), so this frame is basically for 2 rugs. I need to finish the 2nd before I cut them loose and finish them.

I await the crap-ton of yarn I just ordered for my next one <333

A fluffy wooden footstool ✨

It’s been a while since I tufted. This upcycling project was a fun way to get back in to it - a thrifted footstool, and teaching myself upholstery.

Ocean footstool 🌊

This beauty was another marketplace find in need of a little glow up. The wooden legs and frame were still in great condition, but the seat needed some TLC.

So, I got to work on another tufted upcycle. I really love the way the wood frames the wool when you look at the seat from above. It’s like a little picture 😍

Tufted using Bendigo Woollen Mills Australian merino wool, as usual. Their yarns are so soft, which makes them perfect for projects like this where I’m sitting on this stool at my tufting frame or sewing machine 😄
