Backstory (1/2): William was a small Irish river tugboat who came to Bigg City Port seeking a better life. He was painted in a dark, muted teal and lacking any visible registration number, he looked unremarkable—which was exactly what his owners wanted. In those years, the harsh realities of the Prohibition Era and anti-Irish sentiment meant William couldn't secure an honest job.

The only way he could survive was to work for a ruthless gang of bootleggers upriver. Officially, in the daytime he was a simple harbor utility tug, shuffling lumber and empty barges, but his true, terrifying job was smuggling illegal liquor into the city under the cover of night.

His existence was defined by paranoia and profound isolation, a fear compounded by his own secret life as a gay man in a highly judgmental time. He actively pushed away anyone, terrified that his shameful secrets would destroy them too.

William hated his job and his cruel owners, who explicitly threatened to sink and scrap him themselves if he were ever caught. His only form of escape from the perpetual anxiety was to secretly siphon and drink some of the contraband he carried, trapping him in a cycle of self-destruction and misery.

His one small pleasure was anchoring silently during the day to watch the honest tugs on the main port channel. He dreamed of being one of them, free to whistle, to socialize, and to perform a legitimate duty. This silent spectatorship was a daily, painful reminder of the normal life that was perpetually out of reach.

The Moonshine Ghost Deceased [Sketches]

Day of Death: (Never Been Recorded By Bigg City Port Authorities)

(2/2) - Tragedy struck one foggy, cold winter evening in 1922 while William was making a run upriver, his hull packed with contraband and heavy barges chained to his stern. A Coast Guard spotted the unlit, silent tug and gave chase. In a blind panic, William turned hard to stern, trying to lose the cutter in the fog, but his terror and self-medication had dulled his navigation. He grounded hard on a treacherous, rocky patch near the shore.

The impact was fatal, and before the cutter could reach him, the heavy barges smashed into his compromised hull, ripping him open. The Coast Guard, hearing the unmistakable sound of shattering glass and realizing the cargo was lost, simply abandoned the scene. William sank alone, chained to his failure and his cargo, drowning in the bitter river water and the shame of his final, miserable run.

He never achieved his dream of freedom, and thus, The Moonshine Ghost was born. He now haunts that cursed river bend, forever trapped in his final moments of desperate fear. On cold, foggy nights, he appears as a teal specter, silent and cold, often preceded by the faint smell of whiskey and brine.

Driven by his eternal, paranoid instinct to sink any witnesses who comes near his resting spot, he uses his spectral ability to swim and traverse underwater before rising up, summoning the rusty chains from his sunken barges to grab hold of unsuspecting living tugs, dragging them down to his watery grave to share his eternal, miserable silence.

Poor William, he only wanted to live. Yet there’s no one left to remember his name.

Ik it's too late to make acc alive. I was dead for too long time. But idc, I randomly drew Herc and I'm happy, enjoying life! I kinda forgot how good feels to draw smth ^_^ Even if he's my least fav chara from Star Fleet, I still like his design 10\10! I'm not gonna finalize this piece into rendered artwork, cause it is suppose to be just warm up. After a while of not drawing tugboats.. (I was busy with a lot of stuff and also procrastinating. Still fighting anxiety issues oof-)

Gift Alert!! GIFT ALERT!!

I finally had a chance to draw again through my Art Block and I ended up making something for a Dear flower of mine; @projectanimations !!

It is with her Zebedee n Captain Zero! I honestly had fun drawing these because I wanted to try and get back into TUGS for a while. Hope you Like these Projects!
