Uhura took one look at t'pring in all her haughty, secretly scheming glory and was ready to risk it all, and honestly i get it
despite all he has accomplished over the last few hours, none of their success against nero can erase what he has done. while the fate of other worlds, including earth, was prevented --- vulcan is gone. over six billion lives, gone. his mother, gone. the familial link with her severed in an instant, causing mayhem in his head. he is only certain the one with sarek remains, because he has seen his father in the flesh. as for the other . . . his mind is not orderly enough to feel it properly, beyond the onslaught of anger and grief. though it is well - concealed, a part of him dares not look, and discover the truth. if what he fears has come to pass, he knows not if his control, as paper thin as it presently is, will hold. the message sent to him just before the planet was swallowed whole, still burned in his mind. logically anticipating a lack of survival, and yet. he hopes. how very human of hum.
" lieutenant, ” his voice comes out more sharp than he intends it to be, causing the starfleet officer to stand straighter; attention rapt. there are so few vulcans, but he knows the elders and the federation arranged for safe asylum on earth --- paramount, even with his counterpart taking it upon himself to locate a suitable planet. it will be some time still until preparations for such a feat are ready. longer still, to properly asses the damage to his culture, and name all the living . . . and the dead. " the refugees from vulcan. direct me to them. ”

Sybok laughs quietly, deep in his chest. "For my sake," he repeats, as if she told a joke. Has she ever told a joke? Not here of course, but he's sure she has.
Nearly every Vulcan is a hypocrite. He pities his people, and it's pity that stops his laughter.
"Whatever you need to tell yourself." His tone is conversational. "You know, I've known of Vulcans who all sorts of illogical things, yet I don't see them here. For example, did you know it's common for Vulcan children to bully others for having a mixed heritage? And the adults condone it, yet... where are they? Where are the separatists who would reject kol-ut-shan? Last I knew, they were the highest echelons of Vulcan society. Funny. I must be quite the monster to earn this fate while they are celebrated."
“ dif-tor heh smusma, @tuhpring. ”
it has been some time since he laid eyes upon she who would be his wife; starfleet demands grow more each day, and as ever, pike sees fit to always ensure he is aboard the enterprise, when it leaves the space dock. but just as he has other duties that extend beyond what their clans have proposed for them, she, too, has her own noble ventures. spock's head inclines faintly, fingers splayed in the ta'al. it may not be strictly customary for the science officer to oversee guests, but in this instance, concessions were easily made.
“ query : ” “ i trust your journey was agreable? ”
i thought we agreed this would ruin our relationship.
such as it is.
it would completely and utterly destroy their relationship. the one they have now, and any hope of any future connection between them in case this does not work out. t'pring's friendship is precious to her. the vulcan's honesty, her sense of humor, the comforting presence of her by his side, are all things christine can't imagine living without now. in a blink, more quickly than she thought any vulcan could move, she'd slipped past the crack of her defenses, making herself indispensable.
which is exactly why christine needs to change this.
it is no way to live. to have the object of your affections within arm’s reach and denying yourself repeatedly. she is been sitting at a crossroads for a month now. yearning for the person closest to her, and pushing away everyone else who could mean as much because t’pring already occupies so much of her heart.
it would be unfair to them. to her. to the woman standing in front of her now, bearing a composed expression. one christine has learned how to read. to see past it to catch glimpses of the disquiet of her mind, the fear, and dare the hope, the longing, in her eyes?
❛⠀⠀i changed my mind.⠀ ❜⠀ simple answer is followed by something not simple at all. without wasting another second — they’ve already wasted enough — christine closes the distance between them, fingers tangling in the vulcan’s dark tresses, thumb brushing reverently across her cheekbone, before drawing her into another kiss.
PROMPTS FOR THE MORNING AFTER

"It's even worse than it appears, but it's all right." .x
"ARE YOU TRYING TO kill me with a Vulcan death stare or get Pavel to shit his pants?" @tuhpring

This smile left 500 people dead. Christine would help them but she was the first one to go. Anyways!! BINGO!
