The ability to go back and read old text messages is like being able to read a love story you had no idea you were writing.
As much as I hoard ticket stubs, event bracelets, and other trinkets for the IRL love story -- I appreciate this digital age of being able to scroll up and read in between the lines [and the e(bit)mojis]. The recantation of times we didn't think we would be what we are.
The ily age isn't only our snapchat streak, our daily meme exchange, accidentally stalking your ex, or sub posts... but this interactive fairytale of being able to freeze time and replay it over and over again; it's the magic that allows our loved ones to appear in our palms, like we are holding crystal balls to our future; it's the ability to not just put a message in a bottle and hope it one day reaches you, but to track it's every move and receive confirmation of its delivery; it's you walking into my family's home and automatically connecting to the network; our devices syncing; this age of algorithms allows us to trace how placing a heart on your photos grew to placing our hearts in each other's hands...
