Pic unrelated So I know I’ve been gone a bit, and wouldn’t you know it right when I’ve got some time to start dumping Tumblr goes and ends the world or something. Now, while this blog in particular is SFW I do have a NSFW blog (surprise to all four of you who didn’t know!) and I’m left wondering what to do about this whole situation that isn’t really as big a situation for me as it is for other people. On one hand, Tumblr’s new NSFW policy (nuke everything) doesn’t affect this blog. At all. In theory. In practice their bot seems to be flagging sfw artists left and right as well. Given my stuff can be kinda racy at times, I have no doubt I’m gonna get hit at some point. On the other hand, which is really the same hand, because I see no positives to this policy, and because of their “let the bot sort it out” method of enacting it, I find it difficult to take seriously continuing to invest time in a platform that will probably at some point waste my time sorting out its own shortcomings for it. I don’t really look forward to a day where I have to sincerely explain to some tumblr rep why my ridiculous drawings should classify as “artistic expression.” On the third hand, or balanced on my dick, or something, (in b4 flagged) their explanation post came across as a strange mix of pathetic and pretentious, and I feel compelled to jump ship on principle. SO. As far as NSFW stuff goes, I’ll be looking for a new place to post my more depraved shitposting. Probably going to bite the bullet and make a FurAffinity account. However, I’d sincerely appreciate any suggestions as to other places I can take my work. Ideally I’d have two accounts on the same platform, to fully keep my SFW and NSFW work separate. Much as I enjoy drawing a good pair of spread legs, I also respect the desires of some people to avoid seeing a pair of spread legs. And as far as Tumblr goes, I’m still weighing my options. I’m not terribly fond of continuing to support the site in any capacity, or deal with its work-in-progress automatic censor. I’ll make another post when I have everything figured out.
