"The Rega." From Surah 75. Al-Qiyāmah, "The Smilax."
The secret to the smilax is how thoroughly one is able to ingest the Quran and change one's mind about a few things.
Smilax is a genus of flowering, often climbing and thorny, woody vines that grow in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Common names include greenbriers and catbriers.
Sarsaparilla: This well-known herbal extract comes from the roots of several Smilax species, such as Smilax ornata and Smilax aristolochiifolia.
Other uses: The young shoots and roots of many Smilax species are edible, and extracts from the roots have been used in traditional medicine for centuries.
Honey source: Nectar-rich Smilax species like S. bona-nox are considered good honey plants.
As I mentioned in the prior frame, the implication of turning the smilax into honey by reading the Quran is preparation for Judgement Day, the onset of the age of reason. We also discussed this means one must accept there are siddhis, ways to furrow the field if one expects this to take place.
The next section of the Surah illuminates this.
75: 22-30.
"On that Day ˹some˺ faces will be bright,
looking at their Lord.
And ˹other˺ faces will be gloomy,
anticipating something devastating to befall them.
But no! ˹Beware of the day˺ when the soul reaches the collar bone ˹as it leaves˺,
and it will be said, “Is there any healer ˹who can save this life˺?”
And the dying person realizes it is ˹their˺ time to depart,
and ˹then˺ their feet are tied together ˹in a shroud˺.
On that day they will be driven to your Lord ˹alone˺."
Commentary:
The collar bone is 273, רעא, ra'a. "The root רעה (ra'a) has two primary meanings: the first, רעה I (ra'a I), relates to pasturing or tending (as with a shepherd), while the second, ראה (ra'a), means to see, look at, or understand."
There are two ways to understand, one is above the belt and the other is below it. Allah told the Prophet, understand above before one tries to manage what is happening below. Recall God commanded all men to understand the Quran "top to bottom" in the prior frame. Now He says form the feet on up, claiming when one is ready to comprehend, one must bind the feet:
"And the dying person realizes it is ˹their˺ time to depart, and ˹then˺ their feet are tied together ˹in a shroud˺. On that day they will be driven to your Lord ˹alone˺."
The Number is 8325, ףגךה, epggtechah, "adaptation."
The final Gemara is רעהףגךה, "Avoid bad adaptations. Do not follow the sea monster's course."
"In the classics, our verb τρεχω (trecho) emphasizes the haste with which a payload (a message of victory, torches, some constellation, a considered conundrum, people's own lives) is maneuvered along a trajectory."
The Gemara also returns rega, רעגה. Rega (רֶגַע) means "a moment" or "an instant," originating from a root that implies a state of calm or rest. The concept of rega contrasts with the relentless flow of time, suggesting that time consists of a series of such momentary stops.
Etymology and Meaning:
Root: The word rega comes from a root related to a state of calm or rest.
Meaning: It signifies a brief period of time, similar to an "instant" or a "moment".
So in Islam, Shabbat is not a period of rest or the dawn of salvation, it is "an instant of calm" that changes the complexion of reality instead. We will continue to build on this as the Surah continues.
