"The Ganan.'" Conclusion to the Holy Quran, Surah 114. An-Nas, "The Miracle."
Surah 114 – Al-Nās (النَّاس)
Meaning of the Title: “The People”
This surah invokes God as the ultimate Protector from the whisperings of evil, seeking refuge for humankind.
Dates of Revelation:
Revealed in Mecca (Makkan surah)
Approximate period: 610–622 CE, near the end of the Meccan period, shortly before the Hijrah to Medina.
It is one of the last revealed surahs in Mecca, paired with Surah Al-Falaq (113) as the “Mu’awwidhatayn” (the two surahs of seeking refuge).
Purpose / Theme:
Protecting the believer from hidden evil, whisperings (waswās) of Shayṭān or harmful humans, and internal doubt.
Encourages awareness of God as the ultimate refuge.
I am using the Hebrew version of the runner as we need a Miracle more than anything right now.
Muhammad was not at peace when he concluded the Quran, that much is obvious. He was at war most of his life, which he surrendered to Allah in Jerusalem at the Al Aqsa Mosque, which became the world's most contentious place in history as a result. Except he was not a contentious man nor did he enjoy strife. In fact, he hated it. Strife especially between ignorant people over their religious beliefs caused him a great deal of grief. The final Surah is a plea to civilized persons to leave this nonsense behind and seek the Highest instead.
This for us means we must engage in a glorious Jihad, one that will rid the world of the causes of war, poverty, filth, suspicion, superstition, greed, prejudice, all the causes of horror. We shall start it and never finish until all the enemies of the peace and equality are gone, exterminated by a legal environment that tolerates them not in the least.
Every believer in God who knows the Quran is real must participate. You must call, write, and visit officials whose duty requires them to protect the world from war, keep its soil safe from parching and flooding, from belching fire and smoke it overheated air, and finally to ensure the proper economics reach those in the most dire need. Any corrupt politicians or impaired priests that stand in the way of any of these causes must be arrested immediately. There can be no further delays. If two billion Muslims have to walk on foot to Moscow, Rome and DC and manually take the persons responsible for the great darkness that has fallen upon this planet and put them in prison, then this is what has to be done, or it will never end.
I have said this before, the Quran is a guide to the future and it not yet completely finished. Allah commanded additional accounts so mankind would never forget, so it could continue to learn. Our account must state we read the Quran and stopped the filth. This is of the utmost importance to future generations.
Let us now partake of the final thoughts of the one that gave us Muhammad the Prophet.
Thus begins the Surah.
114: 1-6:
"Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind,
the Master of humankind,
the God of humankind,
from the evil of the lurking whisperer—
who whispers into the hearts of humankind—
from among jinn and humankind.”
Commentary:
Remember the Jinn are our friends. They are magic beings that live under our skin along the surgace of our nerve endings. The Hebrew version of the term says they are "protectors of the garden."
"The verb גנן (ganan) means to surround, cover or defend. Nouns גן (gan) and גנה (ganna) mean garden. Noun מגן (magen) means shield and verb מגן (magan) means to shield or deliver."
There is something inside us all that we are missing and it is the Jinn. We are insidious and so nasty all of the time, that is why the earth is in danger. Let us consider all we have read in the Quran and call it up out of our minds and bring it into the light as we close the cover. Let's let the magic faries of Islam out the play and give them free reign. It has never been done before, and the world needs their help.
The Value in Gematria is 4416, םדי״ו, medilavoo, "measure yourself."
To measure the Self, the Prophet said to do the following:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized measuring oneself and one’s actions according to three main sources: the Qur’an, Hadith, and Sunnah. Here’s a concise overview:
1. Using the Qur’an
Criterion: Align your intentions, behavior, and ethics with God’s guidance.
Key principle: “Indeed, the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you” (Qur’an 49:13).
Application: Measure your actions against divine commandments, striving for piety (taqwa), justice, and compassion.
Self-assessment method: Ask, “Does this action bring me closer to God’s pleasure or away from it?”
2. Using the Hadith
Criterion: Compare your behavior to the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ.
Example Hadith:
“The best among you are those who have the best character.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3559)
Application: Evaluate personal morality, honesty, humility, and treatment of others according to prophetic guidance.
Self-assessment method: Ask, “Would the Prophet ﷺ approve of my words, intentions, and deeds in this situation?”
3. Using the Sunnah
Criterion: Observe the Prophet’s ﷺ actions, habits, and practices.
Examples:
Daily prayers, charity, fasting, kindness, forgiveness.
Application: Use the Sunnah as a practical model for behavior in daily life, including family, social, and spiritual conduct.
Self-assessment method: Ask, “Am I practicing the way of the Prophet ﷺ in my daily life, not just in theory?”
Summary of Self-Measurement
The Prophet ﷺ teaches a tri-fold approach:
Qur’an: Are my actions aligned with God’s commands?
Hadith: Are my intentions and morals aligned with the Prophet’s guidance?
Sunnah: Do my daily practices reflect the Prophet’s example?
This approach ensures that internal intention, external behavior, and moral character are all in harmony with Islam’s guidance.
You are supposed to be the best. Today would be a good day to prove it. All the days of Allah must be used in this way. If we accept this, the miracle has already happened.
Thus ends the Surah.
