Day after December 17th of Tumbocalypse
Thank you for reminding everyone on other social medias that you’re still useless.
Stay classy! 👍 @staff
When your posts get flagged and your blog (and side-blog) get marked explicit and disabled search, pretending to happy, keep scrolling and enjoying on Tumblr
For those of you planning a Tumblr boycott tomorrow
... and who post by queue:
I don’t see a way to actually pause your queue entirely, short of deleting all the posts in it. But if you get creative with the queue’s options you can definitely minimize your queue posting:
Open the main page for your queue. This is https://www.tumblr.com/blog/[your-tumblr-username]/queue . See that line at the top reading “Automatically publish a queed post ____ times a day between _____ and _____ “? Set that first number to 1. And set the time to some late time in the day when fewer folks will be using Tumblr normally, say between 10 PM and 11 PM. This will get you down to one Tumblr post on the 17th, at a time people are less likely to be reading.
For added impact, may I recommend this glorious piece of Tumblr snark ? Because if you have to post something on the 17th, you really could do worse than a F#CK-U to @staff . Just move this to the top of your queue after you lower your posting frequency so it’s the one post TUmblr shares on the 17th.
Alternately, if you’re willing to log on once, come back at some point on the 17th and change those times from late in the day to early. So if (e.g.) you came on at 10 AM you could change those last two numbers from 10-11 PM to 2-3 AM. Tumblr won’t post anything until the next time that time window rolls around, which won’t be until the 18th.
Whichever approach you choose, I hope this helps. :-)
So my discoverability on newgrounds has actually been pretty decent. Newgrounds site engineers are also working on improvements to the infrastructure to get things more up-to-date and more welcoming to artists. It... actually might be that *newgrounds* of all places ends up an ideal place for me to have a gallery. Who knows.
Follow me here https://aeolianmode.newgrounds.com/ and try it out for yourself if you’re an artist. Yeah, I hate the rating system, but so far the comments/ratings I’ve gotten have been pretty fair.
Yeah, we got something flagged, too.
The only post that got flagged on this blog in advance of the “adult content” crackdown (as far as I can tell) had only one picture connected with it: a head shot of Donald Trump.
Always said the guy was a boob, but come on, @staff...
I also (somewhat reluctantly) joined Newgrounds: https://aeolianmode.newgrounds.com/
I never liked that people can vote on every little thing, which breeds a bit more of a competitive and harsh community, but, gotta find an audience wherever I can now. x.x
I will still be using Tumblr for as long as there are people here that will see my stuff, but friendly reminder that I crosspost my art to Twitter (https://twitter.com/AeolianMode) , Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/aeolian_mode/) and occasionally DeviantArt (https://www.deviantart.com/aeolianmode) I’m also on Toyhou.se (https://toyhou.se/AeolianMode). A full list of my social media accounts is here: https://listography.com/7695920198 I’m also in an art Discord that anyone can join, provided you are 18+. The hope is that this Discord can provide a platform to continue to share art, meet artists, and advertise commissions even if Tumblr ceases to be a viable platform. https://discord.gg/NrZHEw3
